Xingjiang melon (cucumis melo L.) was treated perspectively with elictiors form culture filtrate (E1) and mycelial walls (Ew) of Colletotrichum langnarium. Activities of phenylalani-ne ammonialyase (PAL) and peroxidae (POD) were significantly higher in the treated plants. The effecr of inducement was higher with E1 than with Ew. A new protein from plants created with E1 ws found on 5-20% polyacrylamide gel gradient elecrrophoreis. The Rf value of the new protein was 0.7-0.75. But no new protein was found in plans treated with Ew.
