Eutectic patterns with weak convection in binary systems

The eutectic growth patterns of binary systems were simulated by a Monte-Carlo method with weak convection. Both with and without convection, the distribution of the lamellar spacing becomes more scattered with decreasing growth velocity. Difference between the maximum lamellar spacing and the minimum one increases with the decreasing growth velocity. The simulated results are in agreement with the previous experimental and theoretical results.
