CD40 ligand Expression on Macrophages during Peritonitis in Patients with Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis

CD40-CD40 ligand (CD40L) interactions play a role in macrophage/monocyte mediated inflammatory processes by upregulating cytokine production by macrophages/monocyte and promoting their rescue from death at sites of inflammation. The present study investigated the possible regulation of CD40L expression in peritonitis during CAPD. CD40L expression on macrophages from peritoneal dialysate was detected by FACS analysis.
