无线传感器网络高能效MAC层协议研究

摘要: 无线传感器网络中的节点一般是靠电池供电的,所以如何提高能源有效性便成为其重要研究课题之一,而对高能效MAC协议的研究更是其中的主流方向。这篇论文在分析已有研究的基础上,提出了一种基于Two-radio架构的高能效MAC层协议EE-MAC。它结合S-MAC中的一些思想,对STEM做了相应改进,引入了触发式唤醒,从而减少了发生满唤醒的可能,大大提高了无线传感器网络的能源有效性。另外,它还在触发式唤醒的基础上提出了自适应监听机制,使得在保障高能效的同时,降低了因周期性监听而引入的时延。论文阐述了EE-MAC的基本原理,并对其在能源有效性上的提高和时延上的降低作了理论分析及仿真,论证了其优越性。

Study of Energy Efficient MAC Protocol for Wireless Sensor Networks
Abstract:In wireless sensor networks, each node is normally powered by battery which can not be replenished or replaced. Therefore, how to improve the energy efficiency is one of the most important issues in wireless sensor networks, and the research on energy efficient MAC protocols is the primary aspect in this field. After the analysis of existing related studies, this paper proposed a novel two-radio architecture based energy efficient MAC protocol named Energy-Efficient-MAC (EE-MAC). This EE-MAC protocol improved the STEM by using some ideas in S-MAC. It introduced a triggered wakeup mechanism to make the data radio periodically listen, which can reduce the probability a full wakeup occurs to improve the energy efficiency in wireless sensor networks. In addition, based on the triggered wakeup, EE-MAC also introduced another mechanism called adaptive listening. It can be used to reduce the latency caused by periodic listening and guarantee energy efficiency at the same time. The basic theory of EE-MAC was illuminated in this paper, and the mathematic analysis and simulation were also given to prove the advantages of this energy efficient MAC protocol in energy efficiency and latency.
