Transformations for a variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili

Abstract:The variable-coefficient Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (vcKP) equations play a great role in explaining the dynamical process in fluid dynamics, plasma physics and other fields. Based on symbolic computation, four transformations are proposed from those vcKP equations to the KP-type and standard KP equation under certain constraint conditions. By virtue of the four transformations, more abundant analytic solutions including periodic solutions, one- and two-soliton-like solutions are obtained. To illustrate the actions of the transformations, four figures are plotted and relevant physical mechanisms are discussed.
