摘要:MLD协议是IPv6组播框架中必备协议之一。MLDv2协议引入的源过滤的机制支持源特定组播模型,但同时增加了路由器实现的复杂性。Light Weight MLDv2(简称LW-MLDv2)协议通过删减排除模式、简化消息处理流程,显著提高MLD协议性能。文章阐述了在XORP路由器平台上实现LW-MLDv2协议的路由器端协议栈,并分析LW-MLDv2协议改进依据和特性。

Design and implement of light weight MLDv2
Abstract:The MLD Protocol series is an important part of the IPv6 multicast system. The common version of MLD Protocol is MLDv2,which introduces IP multicast source filter function but makes the router more complexly. Light Weight MLDv2,LW-MLDv2 for short, deletes the exclude mode of MLDv2 and predigests the procedure of messages. As a result, LW-MLDv2 obviously improves the MLD protocol’s performance. This paper analyses LW-MLDv2 protocol, implements the protocol in the XORP router and tests LW-MLDv2\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
