材料与方法 240例行头颅MR检查的健康对象,按年龄段和性别分组,在SE-T1WI正中矢状面测量胼胝体前后径(Length of CC, LC),膝部厚(Width of Genu, WG)、体部厚(Width of Trunk, WT)、压部厚(Width of Splenium, WS)、压部面积(Splenium area, Sa)、胼胝体总面积(CC area, CCa)及大脑正中矢状面面积(cerebrum area,CBa),计算压部面积比例(Sa/CCa, SCR), 胼胝体-大脑面积比(CCa/CBa, CBR)。

Gender- and Age-Related Differences in the Morphology of Corpus Callosum: by MR imaging
Abstract:Purpose: To investigate the morphological characteristic of Corpus callosum(CC) with gender and age. Materials and methods: 240 healthy objects with MR examination were grouped by gender and age, the length of CC (LC), width of genu (WG), width of trunk (WT), width of splenium (WS), splenium areas(Sa), CC areas (CCa), cerebrum areas, additionally Sa-CCa ratio (SCR) and CCa-CBa ratio (CBR) were measured on mid-sagittal section with SE-T1WI. Statistical analysis, scatter plot and curve fitting between these index and age were completed by SPSS software. Results: ① Mean LC, WG, Sa, CCa and CBR of normal males were larger and SCR was smaller than that of females (p<0.05), there were no difference of WT and WS for gender (P>0.05). ② Significant difference of these index across different age groups were testified by LSD-test (P<0.05), it implied that growth curves of LC, WS and Sa followed logarithmic curves across the human lifespan, and that of WT, WG, CCa and CBa followed inverted quadratic term -curves across the human lifespan, the optimal equation for CCa(Y)-ages(X) was [Y=460.663+10.538×(age)–0.124×(age)2 ]. Conclusion Significant difference of CC size with gender and age was clearly demonstrated in this study. The length of CC increases as age, The total area of CC, width of genu and width of trunk increase as age before (30-40) years old, and decrease as age after this years old, it predicts that the changes of these index follows an inverted quadratic term -curve across the human lifespan.
