处理器仿真原型技术研究进展

摘要:仿真原型在处理器的整个设计流程中有着重要意义:在体系结构设计阶段用于体系结构设计方案的性能评价,在硬件设计阶段用作处理器功能验证的参照模型,在软件设计阶段用作处理器支撑软件的开发环境。本文首先介绍处理器仿真原型的概念、应用、分类、开发方法和评价标准,然后指出仿真原型技术当前研究的热点问题,最后介绍了目前广泛使用的若干现有仿真原型和自行研制的基于虚拟机的仿真原型VMSIM,并给出了选用仿真原型的建议。

Research Progress in Simulator Prototype Technique of Processors
Abstract:The simulation prototype plays an important role in the entire design flow of the processor. It can be used to evaluate performance in the architecture design phase. It can be used as the golden reference model to perform functional verification in the hardware design phase. It can also be used as software development environment in the software design phase. This paper first introduces the concept, applications, classifications, development methods and evaluation criteria of simulation prototype, and then points out the hot spots in the research of simulation prototype. The final part presents a number of widely used simulation prototypes and VMSIM which is a virtual machine based simulation prototype established by the author. Some suggestions are given for the choice from current available simulation prototypes.
