The Standards and Their Role in the Technology Transfer

Abstract：Human development is a process of enlarging people’s choices. Enlarging people’s choices is achieved by expanding human capabilities and implementations. At all levels of development the important capabilities for human development are for people to lead long and healthy lives, to be knowledgeable and to have access to the resources needed for a decent standard of living. Findings show that if these basic capabilities are not achieved, many choices are simply not available and many opportunities remain inaccessible. Because of the importance of the quality of the production in the overall development of the country, the standardization is one of the most important activities that led to the great development achieved by the human especially in the industrial environment. The paper concludes that appropriate technology transfer and standards would curtail the level of technological gap between the highly industrialized nations and the less industrialized ones.
