CT图像中金属伪影的一种校正方法

摘要:CT图像中,由于衰减系数剧烈变化产生的星放射状伪影称为“金属伪影”,它们对断层结构的判断带来很大困难,因此需要有效的方法对金属伪影进行校正。本文在传统插值算法的基础上提出一种改进的消除伪影的算法,其基本思想是修正投影数据,首先提取出金属相关部分的投影数据,然后用具有一致性的线性投影值代替。体模仿真的结果表明图像中的金属伪影得到很好消除,金属周围的图像质量得到很大提高,并且校正效果比传统的插值算法要好得多。

An Approach to Metal Artifact Reduction in CT Images
Abstract:The artifacts with star radials in CT images, called “metal artifact” and caused by large differences in x-ray attenuation coefficients of objects, makes it difficult to discriminate materials in the objects. Thus, these artifacts need to be eliminated. In this paper, the research was made to develop an improved reconstruction algorithm to reduce metal artifacts from images, compared to traditional interpolation algorithms. The basic idea of our method is that it modifies the projection data, firstly extracting projection data corresponding to metallic objects and secondly replacing the data to consistent values. The results of phantom experiments showed that metal artifacts in images are clearly eliminated and the quality around metals was greatly improved. At the same time, our method is more efficient than conventional interpolation algorithms.
