摘要:分析了cache一致性协议的工作机理,定义了cache在不同事件驱动下的状态转换过程和相关的操作,在MOESI基础上设计了一个三级独立Cache一致性协议。在Multifacet GEMS模拟器上对这个一致性协议进行了随机测试,验证了三级Cache一致性协议的在不同处理器核数目和不同网络拓扑结构下的性能;同时,也扩展了Multifacet GEMS对三级cache结构的模拟支持。

Design and Implementation of a Cache Coherence Protocol for Tri-level Caches Based on GEMS
Abstract:This paper analyses the mechanism of a cache coherence protocol, defines the state conversion process and related operations of the cache under different event driving. Then the paper proposes a cache coherence protocol for three-tiered caches based on the MOESI protocol. On Multifacet GEMS Simulator, we test this protocol to verify its’ performance under various number of processor cores and different network topology. At the same time, it expands Multifacet GEMS to support for three-tier caches simulation.
