一种低控制开销的无线传感器网络MAC协议

摘要:能效问题是无线传感器网络介质访问控制(MAC)协议设计的核心问题。S-MAC协议是一种较早采用睡眠监听机制来减少能耗的无线传感器网络MAC协议,S-MAC协议的同步帧属于控制信息,应尽量减少;此外,它采用虚拟簇的同步机制,这种同步机制会产生容易更早消耗完能量的边界节点。本文对S-MAC协议进行研究分析,以延长网络生命周期为目的对S-MAC进行了改进,提出了LO-MAC协议,该协议采用减少控制消耗的方法,提高了网络能效性,同时解决了S-MAC边界节点的问题。本文通过对LO-MAC与S-MAC协议在能效性能上进行了仿真比较,验证了改进后的协议能效优越性。

A Low Overhead Wireless Sensor Networks MAC protocol
Abstract:Energy efficient is the key issue in the design of wireless sensor network (WSN) MAC protocols. S-MAC is a WSN MAC protocol which bases on the listening and sleeping mechanism to reduce energy consumption. Synchronous frame in S-MAC protocol is control information, so it is better to reduce synchronous frame as much as possible. In addition, S-MAC adopts virtual cluster synchronization mechanism which results in the generation of border nodes, and the border nodes exhausts energy more easily and earlier. This paper analyzed S-MAC, and proposed LO-MAC protocol. LO-MAC protocol improved S-MAC through decreasing the energy consumption to prolong network lifetime. Furthermore, LO-MAC resolved the problem of border nodes. The simulation of S-MAC and LO-MAC energy efficiency on NS2 improved that LO-MAC is more energy efficient than S-MAC.
