Synthesis and Exchange Bias Effect of Fe-doped CuO Nanoparticles
首发时间:2010-01-08
Abstract:Polycrystalline Cu1-xFexO (x=0.15) nanoparticles were synthesized using a coprecipitation method. Microstructural studies indicate that two phases are coexistent in the composites. Exchange bias field (HEB) accompanying vertical magnetization shift is observed in the system, after the sample is cooled from 300 to 10K under 10 kOe magnetic field. Consecutive hysteresis loops show that the HEB decreases with magnetic field cycling, which is referred to as the training effect. Furthermore, the exchange bias field and vertical magnetization shift decrease with increasing temperature. The exchange bias effect at low temperature is ascribed to the magnetic exchange coupling between ferromagnetic phase and the spin-glass-like phase at the interfaces.
