Effect of mastitis on milk of hybrid Sudanese cows
首发时间:2010-03-25
Abstract:This research aims to study the phenomenon of spreading mastitis among the Sudanese crossbred dairy cows fresian X Kenana (FXK) and fresian X Butana (FXB). 100 hybrid cows 50% from a dairy cow southern Khartoum were put under study, California test was carried out to detect the infection in the glandular tissue of the udder (cell count). The result shows that the infection was higher in case of (FXB) than (FXK) Also analysis of the infected milk was done and it seems that it is low in protein, fat Fluoride (FL) and potassium (K) but contain high level of sodium (Na), which case the saponisation and that indicate the deterioration of milk. Microbial test was done and resulted in the presence of E coli as a major cause of infection .The research concluded that the infection of mastitis among the cross bred cows is caused by E. coli among the studied herd and this means there is environmental pollution due to mismanagement. The research recommended impacting the ideal husbandry practice and bio-security packages so as to prevent the herd from mastitis and to produce hygienic milk for the consumers.
