IEEE802.16标准和DVB-S2标准编码算法和BER性能比较

摘要:LDPC码已被IEEE802.16e标准和DVB-S2标准的信道编码所采纳,但是这两个标准采用了不同的编码算法使其在BER性能上有很大差异。DVB-S2标准采用双对角线子矩阵实现迭代编码,而IEEE802.16e标准采用准双对角线子矩阵实现迭代编码,DVB-S2标准的LDPC码编码复杂度较低。但是实验结果表明,IEEE802.16e标准的LDPC码的误码率性能优越, DVB-S2标准的LDPC码存在低码重码,影响其误码率性能,可取代DVB-S2标准的LDPC码。

The Encoding Algorithm and Performance Comparison of LDPC Codes in IEEE 802.16e and DVB-S2
Abstract:The LDPC code is absorbed into IEEE802.16e and DVB-S2 standard as a channel coding, while LDPC codes proposed by the two standards are different in encoding algorithms, which lead to remarkably different BER performance. The DVB-S2 standard uses a bi-diagonal sub-matrix for its iterative encoding, while the IEEE802.16e standard uses a quasi-bi-diagonal sub-matrix for its iterative encoding, and the encoding complexity of DVB-S2 LDPC is lower than that of IEEE802.16e LDPC. However, simulation results show that the BER of LDPC code of IEEE802.16e is far better than that of DVB-S2, since DVB-S2 LDPC set has lower weight codes. It is possible to replace DVB-S2 LDPC by using IEEE802.16e LDPC.
