基于三角形折叠的多分辨率三维地形动态显示方法

摘要:当三角形网格描述的地形数据点数较多时,由于数据量比较大,无法完成地形实时动态显示。本文将基于三角形折叠和累进网格的多分辨率显示方法应用到三维地形动态显示中,并针对地形数据的特点,对算法进行了改进。采用适合地形数据的误差计算方法,在误差计算中引入累积误差,并以三叉树的方式保存原始地形的多分辨率层次结构。试验结果表明,采用本方法可以实时生成大规模地形,提高了地形漫游的效率和可视化效果。

A dynamic multi-resolution 3D terrain display method based on the triangle folding
Abstract:The terrain cannot be displayed dynamically in real time if there are too much data that describe the terrain with the triangle mesh. This paper applies multi-resolution display method based on the triangle folding and progressing mesh to the dynamic 3D terrain display and presents an improved algorithm on the basis of the terrain data. Suitable method of error calculation of the terrain data is adopted and accumulated error is introduced in the error calculation; the multi-resolution hierarchical structure of the original terrain is preserved in the way of trinary tree. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm could form large-scale terrain as well as improve the efficiency of real-time terrain walkthrough and the visual effect.
