IEEE 802.11无线局域网多播分簇算法分析

摘要:现有的802.11 DCF协议采用普通的广播帧发送多播数据,缺少RTS-CTS信道预约和ACK确认机制的支持,因而在多播应用中存在可靠性差、吞吐性能不佳、无线带宽严重浪费等诸多缺陷。本文介绍了在基于有接入点(AP)的IEEE 802.11无线局域网(WLAN)中多播分簇(GRRMS)算法。GRRMS利用RTS-CTS信道预约和ACK确认机制来保障多播传输的可靠性,以此降低重传的概率,提升信道利用率,增强多用户、多信道质量情况下的多播传输有效性。理论分析和仿真结果都表明:GRRMS方法有效降低了重传次数,提高了传输速率,在不同节点数下较标准IEEE 802.11 DCF协议显示出更低的平均传输时延和更高的吞吐量,因而更适用于多播传输。

Analysis of Group-based Relay for Reliable Multicast Service (GRRMS) in IEEE 802.11 WLANs
Abstract:As a result of using broadcast frames to send multicast data, and lack of RTS-CTS channel reservation and ACK acknowledgment mechanism, the existing 802.11 DCF shows several disadvantages such as low reliability and poor throughput in multicast transmission. Based on IEEE 802.11 Wireless LAN with Access Point (AP), a novel Group-based Relay for Reliable Multicast Service (GRRMS) algorithm is introduced in this paper. The algorithm reduces the probability of retransmission, increased the utilization of channel, thus improving the efficiency of multicast to different receivers with different channel conditions. Besides, control frames such as RTS, CTS and ACK are used to assure the reliability of multicast transmission. Analysis and simulation result shows that this algorithm has a better performance in time delay and throughput over standard IEEE 802.11 DCF protocol, reducing the possibility of retransmission and increasing the data rate effectively, thus providing reliable multicast transmission in wireless networks.
