H.263与H.264视频编码算法比较

摘要:多媒体技术,特别是实时多媒体技术要迅速发展,离不开视频的支持,而视频的数据量大和通信网带宽小之间矛盾却在日益突出。针对这个问题,国际上权威标准组织先后提出了H.263和H.264视频压缩编码算法。这是两种压缩性能优异的视频压缩编码算法,能够有效的解决视频的数据量大和通信网带宽小的基本矛盾,在很大程度上促进了多媒体技术的普及。但是两者在编码算法与性能上却有很大的区别。本文通过对比两者编码算法的过程,以及提供两者编码后的性能比较,阐述了H.263和H.264的编码特点。

The comparison of H.263 and H.264 video coding algorithm
Abstract:Multimedia technology, especially the real-time multimedia technology to rapidly develop without the support of video, data and video communications network bandwidth, large and small but in the contradiction between the increasingly prominent. To address this issue, the International Standards Organization has made on the authority of the H.263 and H.264 video compression algorithm. This is a two-performance video compression coding algorithm can effectively solve the large amount of video data and communication bandwidth of the basic contradictions of small, largely contributed to the popularity of multimedia technology. But both in the coding algorithm and the performance there is a huge difference. This paper compares the process of the two coding algorithms and provide performance comparison between the two encoded, explained the coding characteristics of H.263 and H.264.
