数据库体系结构的变迁

摘要:应用需求演变和计算机硬件发展是影响数据库体系结构的两大关键因素。当今时代,新应用、新需求不断涌现,数据规模逐步增大,数据类型趋于复杂;在硬件方面,多核CPU越来越普及,内存容量越来越大,网络速度越来越快。因此,注重能效、大数据量、融合多种数据形态、高安全性、高可靠性、面向服务成为新时代数据库系统的必然要求。相较之下,传统数据库的体系结构显得滞后,促使人们探索构建新型数据库体系结构,充分利用新型硬件设备,以满足应用需求。本文在详细说明新数据源特点及新硬件条件的基础上,介绍了新环境下的若干新型数据库,并展望数据库未来的发展方向。

The Change in the Architecture of Database
Abstract:The evolvement of the applications and the development of the computer hardware are the two key factors that affect the architecture of database system. Since the new applications and needs keep emerging in these years, the data volume is eventually increasing and the types of the data tend to become more and more complicated. As to the hardware, multi-core CPUs are becoming more and more popular. Also the storage capacity and the network speed have been improved. As a result, concentration on the effectiveness, massive data, mixture of various types of data, high standard of security and reliability, and service oriented is becoming necessities for databases. Comparatively, the traditional architecture of database seems to be out-dated, impelling people to seek to establish new database architecture and take advantage of high-performance hardware, in order to meet the need for application. This paper introduces several new types of databases that have already been developed under new environment based on detailed description of technical specifications of the new data sources and hardware. It also provides an outlook of future development of database.
