基于网络状态自适应实现拥塞控制的UDT改进协议

摘要:由于光网络的迅速发展,大多数网络支持的带宽已经高达10GB/s。但是,由于传统的传输控制协议(Transmission Control Protocol,简称TCP)的AIMD特性被认为不太适合快速传输的场景。基于UDP现状的数据传输协议(UDP-based Data Transfer Protocol,简称UDT)由于其周期性控制发送速率这一机制可以有效地利用网络带宽。然而,当网络状态迅速变化时,UDT协议无法在周期时间内有效利用网络可用带宽。本文提出一种根据网络状态自适应实现拥塞控制的方法UDT-A,其中网络状态根据网络时延的方差来估算,以此确定发送速率。仿真结果表明,该方法比UDT协议具有更高的网络吞吐量以及稳定性。

UDT improved protocol with adaptive congestion control based on network status
Abstract:With the rapid development of optical networks, most of networks support several tens of Gb/s. However, the traditional TCP protocol because of its AIMD characteristics are considered less suitable for fast transmission.UDT protocol efficiently utilize network bandwidth due to its periodic control sending rate mechanism. However, if the network status varies quickly, the UDT protocol can not utilize the available network bandwidth in-between the sync-intervals. In this paper, we propose UDT improved protocol with adaptive congestion control based on network status(UDT-A) .The network status is estimated based on RTT variance. Network status is divided into four levels, in order to determine the transmission rate. The simulation results show that this method has a higher network throughput and stability than that of the UDT protocol.
