一种基于IPv6前缀置换的可扩展域间路由方法

摘要:本文针对IPv6海量地址空间和大规模路由系统所面临的路由可扩展性问题,提出了一种增强IPv6网络BGP路由聚合能力的方法.该方法利用IPv6丰富的地址空间资源优势,将域间路由使用的地址空间与域内用户分配的地址空间隔离,网络中各自治系统应维护这两个地址空间进行有效的映射,并在路由和分组转发过程中实现IPv6地址前缀的替换。通过对域间地址空间使用可聚合前缀,可有效提高全网的路由聚合效率,解决大规模网络中因BGP路由表膨胀而导致的路由可扩展性问题。本文对该方法进行了理论分析和评价。

A scalable interdomain routing based on IPv6 prefix substitution
Abstract:Aiming at the massive address space of IPv6 and the tangible routing scalability problem in a large scale routing system, this paper proposes a method to enhance the route aggregation capacity of the IPv6 networks. This method takes advantages of the abundance of the IPv6 address space, and separates the interdomain-routing-used address space from the customer's Provider Independent (PI) addresses. Autonomous Systems should maintain a mapping between these two address spaces, and implement prefixes substitution in the routing and packet forwarding processes. By applying Provider Aggregateable (PA) prefixes for the interdomain routing, this method enhances the routing scalability of the IPv6 networks and can relieve the potential routing scalability problem caused by the inflation of the BGP route table. This paper also give a theoretical analysis on evaluating our method.
