Abstract:A ladder-like supramolecular architecture was assembled with the feature of both bilateral "ladder columns" constructed by the C-I...O=C halogen-bonding from 5-iodosalicylic acid (5-Isal) molecules and the "ladder girder" formed by O-H...N hydrogen bonding between carboxylic group and nitrogen atom from 4,4'-bipyridyl. It is expected that the results are significant in understanding the interaction of drug-receptor, molecular recognition of biological systems as well as assembly of functionalization materials.
