植物木质素合成关键酶CAD的功能及其基因调控研究进展

摘要:木质素主要存在于植物的次生细胞壁中,对植物的生长发育有重要的作用。但是植物体内的木质素由于结构复杂难以除去,成为了造纸业、生物质能产业以及畜牧业发展的一大限制因素。肉桂醇脱氢酶(CAD)是木质素合成途径中的最后一个酶,通过基因工程的手段,调控肉桂醛脱氢酶基因CAD能够达到对植物进行木质素改良的目的。本文对CAD基因家族的分类与进化,CAD蛋白的结构与功能,以及CAD基因的调控相关方面的研究进行了总结,并提出了在对CAD进行调控时应注意的问题,以期为植物CAD的研究以及木质素的改良工作提供理论指导。

Advance in functional analysis and expressional regulation of cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD): a key enzyme involved in plant lignin biosynthesis
Abstract:Lignin is a major component existing in plant secondary cell walls and plays a crucial role in plant growth and development. However, the presence of lignin complicates the structure of the plant cell walls and negatively influences pulping manufacturing, bioenergy industry as well as forage properties. Cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase (CAD), as a key enzyme involved in lignin biosynthesis, catalyzes the last step in monolignol synthesis, and has a major role in lignin genetic regulation. The review summarizes the background information of CAD gene family and its enzyme properties, focuses on genetic manipulation of CAD in different species. Simultaneously, the feasibility and fitness issues of improving lignin properties by regulating CAD are also introduced briefly, aiming to provide theoretical guidance for further researches of CAD and lignin regulation.
