Grain refinement mechanism of ZA12 alloy by new modified SiC nanoparticles

Abstract:The present investigation deals with the effects of new modified SiC nanoparticles and processing parameters ( such as addition temperature, holding time, casting temperature and cooling rate ) on microstructure of ZA12 alloy. The active effect of each processing parameter is investigated independently. The results indicate that the microstructure is effectively refined by the new modified SiC nanoparticles. It's likely to fade the refined effect for the new modified SiC nanoparticles to raise the addition temperature, prolong the holding time, increase the casting temperature and enhance the cooling rate. In this experiment, when the addition amount of new modified SiC nanoparticles is 0.05%, the addition temperature is 580 ℃, the holding time is 3min, the casting temperature is 500 ℃ and the mold is preheated on 150 ℃, the microstructure of ZA12 alloy is better.

摘要:本文探索了新改性SiC纳米粒子和过程参数(如加入温度、保温时间、铸造温度和冷却速率)对ZA12合金微观组织的影响。并独立考察了每个过程参数的作用效果。结果表明,新改性SiC纳米粒子能有效地细化ZA12合金的微观组织。提高加入温度,延长保温时间,提高铸造温度,增强冷却速率都减弱了新改性SiC纳米粒子的细化作用。在本实验中,当新改性SiC纳米粒子加入量为0.05%,加入温度为580℃,保温时间为3分钟,铸造温度为500℃并且模具预热到150℃时,ZA12合金的微观组织较好。
