一种适用于16QAM相干光通信系统的新型载波相位恢复算法

摘要:16阶正交幅度调制(16QAM)相干接收光通信系统中常采用经典的盲相位搜索算法(BPS)对接收信号进行载波相位恢复,但是该算法存在计算复杂度高的缺陷,这将成为高速光通信系统的硬件和成本面临的严峻挑战。针对这一问题,本文提出一种新型的基于星座图分割和最大似然相位判决(MLPD)的载波相位恢复算法并在PDM-16QAM相干光通信系统中进行了仿真验证。仿真结果表明,该算法计算复杂度较BPS降低很多,同时两者的传输误码性能和线宽容忍性能基本相当。

A New Carrier Phase Recovery Algorithm for 16QAM Coherent Optical Communication System
Abstract:Classic blind phase search algorithm is usually used to recover carrier phase in 16QAM coherent optical communication system, but it has a high computation complexity which becomes a severe challenge for hardware and cost in high-speed optical communication system. To solve this problem, a new carrier phase recovery algorithm based on constellation partitioning and maximum likelihood phase decision (MLPD) is proposed in this paper and its performance is verified in PDM-16QAM coherent optical communication simulation system. The simulation results show that the computation complexity of the proposed algorithm is much lower compared with BPS while the transmission BER performance and linewidth tolerance of both algorithms are very similar.
