动态自适应流媒体业务中基于QoE度量反馈的无线资源调度算法

摘要:动态自适应流媒体(Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP)因为其方便部署,成本低廉,能适应不同用户需求等特性,成为了视频服务的主流业务模式。更关注用户感受的用户体验质量(Quality of Experience)也成为了评价视频服务的主要指标。文章分析了MPEG-DASH标准。标准规定用户要周期性地反馈QoE度量(QoE Metric)给基站,因此提出了将QoE Metric信息运用在调度算法中的思路。进一步地,在学习了经典的无线资源调度算法并分析其设计思路和优缺点的基础上,提出了一种基于QoE度量反馈的无线资源调度算法QMFRA(QoE Metric Feedback based Resource Allocation)。QMFRA算法的调度思路是最大化所有用户的加权速率和,速率因子代表了信道质量,权值则体现了QoE Metric的影响。权值的设计引入了缓冲数据量因子,中断因子和切换因子,体现了避免中断和加强公平性的思想。根据上述思路,文章在开源的LTE系统级仿真平台上进行了仿真。仿真结果显示,相较于广泛使用的多载波比例公平(MPF,Muti-carrier Proportional Fair)算法,QMFRA算法能够有效地提升用户的平均意见得分(MOS,Mean Opinion Score),减少中断的发生,有效地提升用户QoE。

A QoE Metric Feedback Based Resource Allocation Algorithm in Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP
Abstract:Dynamic Adaptive Streaming over HTTP (DASH) is the main business mode of video service because of its convenient deployment, low cost, and adaptability to different user requirements. Meanwhile quality of experience (QoE) has become the main evaluation indicator of video service quality. This paper analyzed the MPEG-DASH protocol. The protocol specifies that the user should periodically feedback QoE metric to base station. Therefore, the idea of using the QoE metric information in scheduling algorithm is proposed. After studying classic wireless resource allocation algorithms and analyzing their design ideas, a QoE Metric Feedback based Resource Allocation (QMFRA) algorithm is proposed. QMFRA algorithm is to maximize the sum of all users weighted rate. The rate factor stands for channel quality, and the weight reflects the QoE metric. Designof the weights introduces buffer factor, interruption factor and switch factor, which reflect the idea of avoiding interruptions and enhancing fairness. Simulation results show that QMFRA algorithm can effectivelyimprove user's mean opinion score (MOS) and reduce the occurrence of interruption compared with the widely used Multi-Carrier Proportional Fair (MPF) scheduling algorithm.
