A Study on the Coupling and Coordination of Public Service Quality and Economic Development

Abstract：This paper constructs the index system of basic public service quality and economic development from the dimensions of social security, public education, ecological environment, living facilities, public medical care, economic growth, economic structure and economic scale. Based on the statistical data of 43 major cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt from 2011 to 2018, this paper conducted empirical test and spatial economic analysis on the coupling coordination degree between basic public service quality and economic development of each city based on entropy TOPSIS, coupling coordination degree model and Moran index. The results show that the overall coupling coordination level of major cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt is in the shape of "N". The score of coupling coordination decreases from east to west, and there is a big gap in the level of coupling coordination among cities. There is a significant spatial positive correlation and spatial dependence between economic development and the coupled coordination level of basic public service quality
