The Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) equation describes such situations as the two-dimensional long water waves, surface waves and internal waves in straits or channels. The Darboux transformation (DT) of the KP equation is investigated in this paper. The previously-published four constrain conditions on the DT are hereby proved to be compatible and can be reduced to one. New representations of the solutions are presented, which are more concise than the existing ones.

As an extended (2+1)-dimensional Hirota model in fluid dynamics, plasma physics and optical fiber communication, the Hirota-Maccari equation is investigated for its integrability in the Painleve sense. With symbolic computation, such equation is bilinearized by the dependent variable transformations obtained from the truncated Painleve expansion at the constant level term. Furthermore, the corresponding N-soliton solutions are given by the Hirota bilinear method. Those solutions are illustrated and to be shown after the collision having the wave velocity and amplitude of each soliton unchanged except its phase shift in the collision region. Finally, another class of solutions with singular points is presented.

Hereby investigated is the modified Kadomtsev-Petviashvili equation which can be used to describe the wave phenomena in fluid dynamics, plasma physics and electrody- namics. By virtue of the Cole-Hopf transformation and perturbation expansion method,symbolic computation is performed to obtain the single- and multiple-front waves of such equation. Based on the structures of those (2+1)-dimensional solutions, inelastic inter- actions among the multiple-front waves are discussed which might provide us with useful information on the dynamics of the relevant physical fields.

In this paper, a generalized variable-coefficient nonlinear Schr鰀inger equation with higher-order and gain/loss effects which can be used to describe the femtosecond pulse propagation is analytically investigated via symbolic computation. Under sets of coefficient constraints, such an equation is transformed into a completely integrable constant-coefficient higher-order nonlinear Schr鰀inger equation. Furthermore, through the transformation, the dark one- and two-soliton solutions for the generalized variable-coefficient higher-order nonlinear Schr鰀inger equation are derived by means of the bilinear method.

Polyacrylamide (PAM) microgel with low degree of cross-linking was synthesized in this study. Properties such as its water solution viscosity and EOR (enhanced oil recovery) were characterized. The influence of concentration and degree of cross-linking on EOR of the PAM microgel solution was studied. From these results, it is stated that this kind of microgel can improve the resistance to salinity and temperature, and can give an EOR much higher than partially hydrolyzed polyacrylamide (HPAM) solution. In the condition of a salinity of 80000mg/L (Ca2+, Mg2+, Na+), at 45℃ the microgel solution with a degree of cross-linking of 11.4% and a concentration of 1.5‰ have almost the same viscosity as compared with its fresh water solution at room temperature and gives a 25% improving sweep efficiency in laboratory core flooding test. This kind of microgel solution is very useful in chemical enhanced oil recovery process and has potential of industrial utilization.

With the extended variable-coefficient balancing-act method and symbolic computation, a new auto-Backlund transformation to the variable-coefficient Huxley equation which describes the nerve propagation in biology is derived. In virtue of the auto-Backlund transformation, two families of analytic solutions and soliton-like solutions of the variable-coefficient Huxley equation are obtained. Since the famous Huxley equation is a special case of the variable-coefficient Huxley equation, a new shock wave solution of the Huxley equation is obtained with the same method.

In this paper, we first derive the bilinear form and auto-Backlund transformation for a variable-coefficient Korteweg-de Vries-typed (vcKdV) equation with external-force term. Then, we obtain the N-soliton-typed solution in terms of Wronskian form, which is proved to be indeed an exact solution of this equation through Wronskian technique. In addition, we show that the (N-1)- and N-soliton-typed solutions satisfy the auto-Backlund transformation by using the same method.

Describing the weakly nonlinear dynamics of long waves embedded in marginally stable shear flows that vary in the streamwise direction, a variable-coefficient Boussinesq equation is investigated in this paper. With symbolic computation, such a model is transformed into its constant-coefficient counterpart under certain constraints on the coefficient functions. By virtue of the obtained transformation, some integrable properties for this equation are derived, such as the auto-Bäcklund transformation, nonlinear superposition formula, Lax pair and Darboux transformation. In addition, some soliton-like solutions are obtained from the integrable properties and the relevant physical applications are also pointed out.

Burgers-type equations can describe some phenomena in fluids, plasmas, gas dynamics, traffic, etc. In this paper, an integrable hierarchy covering the lattice Burgers equation is derived from a discrete spectral problem. N-fold Darboux transformation (DT) and conservation laws for the lattice Burgers equation are constructed based on its Lax pair. N-soliton solution in the form of Vandermonde-like determinant is derived via the resulting DT with symbolic computation, structures of those solutions are shown graphically. Coexistence of the elastic-inelastic interaction phenomenon among the three solitons is firstly reported for the lattice Burgers equation, even if the similar phenomenon for certern continuous systems appears in literature. Results in this paper might be helpful for understanding some ecological problems describing the evolution of competing species and the propagation of nonlinear waves in fluids.

采用细长旋成体类型前机身的飞行器在进行大攻角飞行时会产生前体非对称涡流动,进而诱发机翼摇滚。本文针对30 后掠机翼与细长旋成体机身组成的翼身组合体模型,首先给出了攻角52.5 下头尖部人工微扰动与机头非对称涡诱发机翼摇滚运动的相关关系,存在单极限环振荡、偏向一侧的微振和不规则振荡三类典型的摇滚运动形态;其次,针对单极限环运动形态,进行了相应静态状态下的流场测量,分析了摇滚运动历程中的相应位置的静态流场的演化特性,揭示了零侧滑状态下流动非对称与单极限环摇滚运动之间的相关关系。结果表明,零侧滑状态下的流动非对称是引起机翼摇滚的关键因素之一,而零侧滑状态下的横向静稳定性是决定流动出现单极限环振荡的重要因素。实验是在北京航空航天大学D4低速风洞中进行的,来流Re=1.61e5。
