Protective Effect of Ginkgo Biloba Extract on Endothelial Cell Against Damage Induced by Oxidative Stress

The viability of bovine aortic endothelial cells (BAECs) treated with 0.1mM H2O2 was decreased by 39.8%, and 100 mg/l EGb761 increased the viability by 20.6%. Exposure BAECs to H2O2 for 6 min resulted in a significant elevation in the intracellular free Ca2+. Pretreatment of BAECs with 10mg/l and 100mg/l EGb761 for 10min showed a decrease in the intracellular free Ca2+, 4.5% and 20.6%, respectively.
