In this paper, in order to assess the resource use of a system and its influence on the environment comprehensively, some revision is made for the traditional exergy analysis. The concepts of the system environment negative effect, the system negative effect and the system negative effect factor are presented in the paper to expand the traditional exergy analysis technology to include the pollution of the discharged waste to the environment. The calculation equations are also given followed by the methods of determining the harm coefficients and the effect coefficients, so the technology indexes can be obtained to comprehensively assess the resource utilization and the influence on the environment of a system.
