An Image Compression Algorithm Based on Hybrid Coding

Zerotree, bit plane and arithmetic coding are widely used in image compression algorithms based on wavelet transform. By exploiting the correlation among wavelet coefficients and combining the zerotree, bit plane and arithmetie coding, this paper presents a new image compression algorithm, named CZ-BPP(eontext-based zeortree and bit plane prediction coding). Experimental results illustrate that it performs better than EZW and SPIHT.
