Cylindrical configurations of classical string with rigidity

All possible cylindrical configurations of classical Nambu-Goto-Polyakov string theory are obtained. Their cross sections are shown to be different lines which can be classified into eight different types: straight, undulating, positively self-intersecting, eight-like, negatively self-intersecting, buckling, nodoid-like and circular. These lines have the same shapes as elastic thin rods or strings which were known a century ago.
