Spin assignment for the πh11/2×νh11/2 yrast band in odd-odd 124Cs

High spin states of odd-odd nucleus 124Cs have been studied following the 116Sn(11B,3n) reaction at a beam energy of 45 MeV. The previously reported isolated rotational bands are connected to each other by various linking transitions and to the 11 ground state through different decay paths. The spin of the lowest observed state in the πh11/2×νh11/2 yrast band is determined to be 9\, which is two units larger than that suggested by the latest in-beam study and confirms the spin assignment proposed by a recent systematics study on spin assignment and signature inversion of the πh11/2×νh11/2 bands in odd-odd isotopes 118-132Cs.
