Resultsoftheanalysisshowtransmissionlines'icingcharacteristics:longduration, highfrequencyofoccurrence, largecoverageareaandgreatlossestothenationaleconomy, amongothers.Basedontheauthors'long-termobservationsandresearchonthesubject, thispaperthencategorizestheicingofChinesetransmissionlinesinto7differenttypes.Inaddition, itindicatesthathardglazeandmixedrimecausethesevereiceaccidents.
