Through the asymmetric reduction of poly(methyl vinyl ketone)and copolymer of mehtyl vinyl ketone and styrene, optical polymers with chiral alcohol groups were synthesized. The effect of measuring solvents on the specific rotatory power of the reduction products was investigated. It was found that the optical rotation was mainly caused by the chiral alcohol groups in the molecules of the syrtthesized polymeric alcohols.
