Since Song first reported the anterotateral thigh flap in 1984, this flap has been apphed widely in dinica [practice. We therefore believed that this flap coutd form the reverse-flow flap, which can be used chnica[[y. From 1997 to 2002, two patients who suffered from soft tissue defects in their lower extremities have been repaired successfully with the reversed flow antero[atera[thigh is[and flaps. The reverse-flow antero[atera[thigh island gap with retiab～e blood suppty and long vascular pedicle can be designed to repair soft tissue defects around ipsRatera[knee joint or contralatera[distal rejoins of the leg, espedatty in the difficutty cases.
