刘希玉,男,1964年11月25日出生,汉族,理学博士,教授、博士生导师、泰山学者,第九届中国青年科技奖获得者,山东师范大学党委委员、管理与经济学院院长,全国高等师范院校计算机研究会副理事长,山东计算机学会副理事长,山东省高教学会计算机专业委员会副理事长,山东省青联海外界别秘书长,中国计算机学会青年计算机科技论坛荣誉学术委员,中国计算机学会高级会员,山东省有突出贡献的中青年专家。曾获全国新长征突击手、山东省高校工委优秀共产党员、山东省十大优秀教师等荣誉称号。
刘希玉同志主要从事信息管理、数据挖掘、计算智能、非线性分析和计算机辅助设计等方面的研究,主持和作为骨干成员先后完成了国家自然科学基金、香港理工大学国际合作项目、山东省自然科学基金重大项目、山东省科技攻关计划、山东省教育厅科技计划项目等若干项;主持完成鉴定项目5项,许多项目达到了国际先进水平,并已经产生了重要的经济和社会效益。曾在中国科学院、香港理工大学进行访问研究,部分成果在美国、意大利、英国、荷兰、马来西亚等地举行的学术会议上进行过交流。于2006年获得第九届中国青年科技奖;2005年获得山东省自然科学奖二等奖一项(首位),2006年和2003年各获山东省科技进步奖二等奖一项(首位),同时还获得山东省科技进步奖三等奖、山东省自然科学奖三等奖、山东省高校优秀科研成果奖、山东省计算机应用优秀成果奖等多项奖励。在国内外著名学术期刊上发表论文120余篇,其中被SCI、EI检索21篇。

The purpose of this paper is to investigate generative and evolutionary design models by the new idea of co-evolution. Multi-objective optimization is our main concern. A dynamic co-evolution model is presented with detailed description of its application in eco-conscious housing design. Area and solar constraints of housing design problems are considered with maximum architectural area and solar illumination been optimized. We use dynamic niche models based on a fitness-sharing scheme to define energy and fitness functions for the co-evolution system. Early experimental data are presented and analyzed to show the effectiveness of this approach to evolutionary design optimization and its computational implementation of the algorithms.

CLARANS is an efficient and effective clustering method especially in spatial data mining. It is applicable to locate objects with polygon shape. Inspired by its randomized searching nature, and based on the standard particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm together with the widely used dynamic niche technology, this paper presents a new variation of CLARANS combined with the dynamic niche sharing technique with PSO algorithm. We proposed a cooperative particle swarm optimization CLARANS with cooperative multi-population.

This paper presents a new design optimization technique by artificial neural networks. Based on the theory of partial ordering and cones in Banach spaces, a new kind of neural networks with functional links is proposed. Learning algorithm lies heavily on the ordering structure of the sample space with an alternative feed-forward and backpropagation technique. Experiments are described with comparison with traditional functional link networks and wavelet networks.

Based on the standard particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm together with the widely used dynamic niche technology, this paper presents a new variation combined with the dynamic niche sharing technique on the basis of traditional PSO algorithm. We proposed a cooperative particle swarm optimization model with cooperative multi-population. Applications are given on creative conceptual architectural design.

This paper deals with periodic solutions of impulsive second order boundary value problems with parameter, Existence results are presented for nonlinearity with mixed sublinear and superlinear term at λ-0 and (or) λ≠0. This paper presents a new surface reconstruction method based on complex form functions, genetic algorithms and neural networks. Surfaces can be reconstructed in an analytical representation format. This representation is optimal in the sense of least-square fitting by predefined subsets of data points. The surface representations are achieved by evolution via repetitive application of crossover and mutation operations together with a back-propagation algorithm until a termination condition is met. The expression is finally classified into specific combinations of basic functions. The proposed method can be used for CAD model reconstruction of 3D objects and free smooth shape modelling. We have implemented the system demonstration with Visual C++ and MatLab to enable real time surface visualisation in the process of design.

This paper presents some existence results for a class of impulsive boundary value problems with nonhomogeneous boundary data on the half-line. By applying fixed-point theorems on cones, we obtain the existence of positive bounded and unbounded solutions. Our methods are integral equations, approximate solutions, a priori bounds and modified Arzela techniques.

In this paper, we study properties of the eigenfunctions of singular boundary value problems. The main results show that for a class of singular boundary value problems, the Sturmian oscillation theorem holds. It is a generalization of the standard case to the singular case.

In this paper, evolution and visualization of the existence of saddle points of nonlinear functionals or multi-variable functions in finite dimensional spaces are presented. New algorithms are developed based on the mountain pass lemma and link thery in nonlinear analysis. Further more, a simple comparison of the steepest descent algorithm and the genetic algorithm is given. The process of the saddle point finding is visualised in an inteactive graphical interface.
