叶邦彦,现任华南理工大学机械工程学院教授,博士生导师。1985年7月研究生毕业后留校,在华南理工大学机电工程系任教。后攻读机制专业在职博士研究生,1989.10获工学博士学位。1995.10被聘为教授, 后晋升为博士生导师。现为中国机械工程学会高级会员,兼任中国机械工程学会生产工程分会切削专业委员、全国高等学校制造自动化研究会副理事长兼中南分会理事长、广东省机械工程学会摩擦学学会常务理事、广东省高等学校数控专业教学指导委员会委员、ICPMT国际学术会议技术及组织委员会委员等。
主要从事金属切削机理及表面质量控制、特种加工、机电一体化技术、计算机检测与控制等方面的教学与科研工作。近年来主持和承担国家自然科学基金(导电加热切削灭弧机理和电热参数的自适应控制、金属基复合材料加工表面质量及可用刀具、多分辩自适应谐振理论及其在刀具渐变磨损过程中的监测应用研究、钢材高速切削加工中的切削热的分配与切削温度测量等)、教育部博士点专项科研基金(导电加热切削电热参数的确定和自适应控制)、广东省自然科学基金(金属翅纤维高效切削成形技术及工艺研究、非连续增强型金属基复合材料切削加工表面质量研究等)和省部级重点科技攻关项目(高效太阳能全自动节水灌溉设备开发等)以及横向科研项目等共19项。与合作者的研究成果“硬脆材料切削机理及技术研究”1998年10月被评为广东省重大科技研究成果。获国家发明专利一项(轻薄工件和带有孔或凹槽、凹面的弧形外圆工件的磨削成形加工方法)、实用新型专利五项。
在Key Engineering Materials、Journal of Materials Processing Technology、Materials Science Forum、机械工程学报、中国机械工程、材料科学与工程、振动工程学报、中国电机工程学报、工具技术、现代制造工程和计算机辅助设计与图形学学报等国内外刊物上发表论文100多篇,其中多篇被国外杂志和SCI、EI、ISTP等收录。近年来参加CIRP、IMCC、ICPMT等国际学术会议并宣读论文。1995年10月赴新加坡Gintic Institute of Manufacturing Technology作短期学术访问与合作研究。1998年3月,受台湾大学的邀请,赴台进行了学术访问和交流。
在教学方面,讲授本科生课程4门,研究生课程6门,主编全国高等学校规划教材《机械工程英语》等。已指导博士研究生21人、硕士生28人。

Theoretical analysis and experiments on bearing race show that a suitable residual compressive stress on roll path of bearing race can prolong its contact fatigue life. However, residual tensile stress is often found on workpiece surface of bearing race. To actively control the residual stress state and improve fatigue life of bearing part, a new method of pre-stress hard cutting is applied. In this paper, the principle of pre-stress hard cutting for bearing race is introduced as well as the experiments on it. In the experiments, residual stress, hardness and roughness of machined surface are measured and analyzed. Moreover, micro-topography and texture characteristics of machined surface are investigated and experimental results are compared with that by grinding. It is found that we can get residual compressive stress and fine quality on machined surface of bearing race by pre-stress hard cutting and increase its productivity as well.

The analysis on load characteristics and stress state of bearing races shows that the roll path and outside layer of a bearing race are the main part to bear the load, and that residual tensile stress is often found on workpiece surface. For the purpose of improving residual stress state on machined surface of a bearing race, a method of pre-stress hard cutting is put forward. In this paper, the principle of pre-stress cutting is introduced, and method of loading stress on bearing races, together with the calculation for pre-stress, is analyzed. A set of device with expanding mandrel for realizing the process is designed too and an experiment of pre-stress cutting is carried out on a lathe with PCBN tool. The experimental results show that, by using this method, we can get residual compressive stress on machined surface layer of a bearing race and increase the quality and contact fatigue life of bearing.

Gearlike cylindrical structure can be used as outer ring of linear bearing for saving material, but the machined surface quality and roundness of this kind of bearing is beyond control in cylindrical grinding and machining efficiency is low. To solve these problems, a new method of pre-stress grinding for gearlike cylindrical surface of linear bearing is put forward based on analysis on the principle of cylindrical centerless grinding. For implementing this process, a set of device with expanding mandrel for loading tensile pre-stress on bearing ring is designed and experiment of through-feed grinding is carried out on centerless grinder. The experimental results show that this method can get fine quality of machined surface and increase the grinding efficiency greatly.

In this article, the micro-topography and texture characteristics of machined surface under the condition of high speed cutting are analyzed based on experimental observation. The forming process of machined surface and cause of the appearance are also discussed. The experimental results show that furrow and ridges, surface white layer and molten metal daub by the feed motion of cutting tool are found on machined surface due to the effect of high cutting temperature and rotating of workpiece in high speed turning process.

The forming process of serrated chip in high speed cutting for steel is analyzed based on experimental observation. The cause of serrated chip forming in high speed cutting process is the multiple effects of high cutting heat and strain rate. The shear deformation is concentrated in a narrow band and results in a shear localization. In this article, the forming mechanism of serrated chip is analyzed in accordance with the SEM photograph and metallographics got from experiment.

SiC particle-reinforced aluminum matrix composites (SICp/Al) is a kind of hard to cut material with excellent physical and mechanical performances. In order to solve the problem of tool wear rapidly and bad of machined surface quality in cutting, a new type carbide tool with guiding and finishing land was designed by analyzing on the forming mechanism of machined surface and state of tool wear in this paper. Experimental results show that tool life and quality of machined surface are improved significantly by using this new type tool.

The problem for adjusting heating current in Electric Hot Machining is how to detect the change of cutting condition. In this paper, Cutting state resistance has been proposed as a state parameter for self-adjusting heating current in EHM. An investigation on the relationship between this parameter and cutting conditions has been carried out. The experimental results show that cutting state resistance can rapidly respond the change of cutting state and optimum control of heating current can be realized in electric hot machining by means of detecting this resistance.

基于密度法,提出了将结构力学中的拓扑优化思想应用于热传导散热结构的优化设计,建立了热传导问题的散热结构拓扑优化数学模型,推导了热传导最佳散热结构拓扑优化设计的优化准则算法;并应用基于卷积的滤波技术处理计算过程中密度场,消除数值计算不稳定性;数值算例验证了本文理论、思想和算法的正确性、有效性;该算法研究为温度场结构优化设计提供了一种新的思路和方法,具有一定的工程应用价值。

本文开发了适应在线检测需要的精密轴承外径机器视觉检测系统。简明、精确的标定方法、高效精确的图像处理算法(如亚像素边缘定位)使检测系统达到了较高的精度。检测结果表明,系统具有非接触、速度快、精度高、现场抗干扰能力强等优点。

为提高机械工程图三维重建的实用性,该文以实际工程图为重建对象,提出了基于机器理解的机械工程图三维重建的新方法。该方法具有以下特点:1)利用机械工程图蕴涵的工程语义信息,引导对基元特征操作参数信息的识别;2)通过“假想与确定”的重建机制,对不同的基元特征采用不同的重建方法;3)为进一步提高实用性,采用集成的重建技术扩展重建对象的形体覆盖域;4)将已重建基元扩充入模式库,建立自学习机制,提高系统的重建效率和应用范围。实验结果表明,该方法具有较好的实用性。
