1948年1月23日出生。中共党员。1970年8月兰州大学化学系本科毕业,1981年12月兰州大学化学系研究生毕业,获硕士学位并留兰州大学化学系无机教研室任教至今。1990年7月晋升副教授,1995年1月晋升为教授。现任兰州大学化学化工学院院长,博士生导师。还兼任中国化学会化学教育委员会委员,教育部高等学校化学与化工学科教学指导委员会化学类专业教学指导分委员会委员,甘肃省化学会常务理事、副理事长,"大学化学"杂志编委。曾于1985年11月至1986年12月和1994年9月至1995年3月分别赴前苏联莫斯科精细化工学院和俄罗斯莫斯科大学化学系进行学术访问。多年来承担过兰州大学“无机化学”、“高等无机化学”、“近代分离化学”、“配位化学”、“理论无机化学”等课程的讲授和“无机化学实验”、“高等无机实验”等实验课指导等教学工作。本人参加的教学研究成果曾获甘肃省优秀教学成果一等奖和国家优秀教学成果二等奖;兰州大学教学成果一等奖和甘肃省高等教育教学成果二等奖。至今已在国内外学术刊物上发表有关稀土化学、配位化学方面的科研论文120余篇。科研成果曾获甘肃省教委科技进步一等奖4项,二等奖2项;甘肃省科委科技进步一、二、三等奖各1项。主持国家自然科学基金项目1项,甘肃省自然科学基金项目2项,横向课题1项,参加国家攀登计划项目、国家自然科学基金重大项目和一般项目、国家教委科研项目、博士点基金项目、重点实验室开放基金项目12项,参加横向课题2项。培养博士生7名,硕士生15名。

L-Amino acids as inexpensive and readily available natural products showed significant chiral induction and stereodirecting abilities. The Mn (Ⅲ)-Schiff-base complexes 3b and c assembled with L-amino acid ethyl esters were found to be highly effective catalysts for the enantioselective epoxidation of conjugated olefins while the corresponding binuclear-Mn (Ⅲ) complexes showed lower enantioselectivity.

A novel La (Ⅲ) complex of chrysin (5,7-dihydroxyflavone) was synthesized and characterized by UV, IR, H NMR, thermogravimetry/differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA) and elementary analyses. The interactions of the La (Ⅲ) complex and chrysin with calf thymus DNA were investigated by spectrophotometric methods and viscosity measurements. The intrinsic binding constants of La (Ⅲ) complex 6 5 21 and chrysin are 1.29310 and 5.44310 M, respectively. Experimental results indicated that La(III) complex and chrysin can both bind to DNA by intercalation modes, but the binding affinity of La (Ⅲ) complex is much higher than that of chrysin. Comparative antitumor activities of La (Ⅲ) complex and chrysin were tested by MTT and SRB methods. The results show that at the concentration of 10 mM for chrysin and La (Ⅲ) complex, the inhibitory ratios of La (Ⅲ) complex against the tested tumor cells were higher than those of chrysin.

A new chelating ligand, 3,5-dibenzyloxybenzoyl-2,4-dihydroxybenzal-dehyde hydrazone (H2L), and its five transition metal complexes, M(HL) (OAc) [M=Co(Ⅱ), Ni (Ⅱ), Cu(Ⅱ), Zn(Ⅱ), Mn(Ⅱ)], have been prepared and characterized on the basis of elemental analyses, magnetic moment, molar conductiyvity, IR, 1H NMR and electronic spectra. Structures of the prepared complexes are suggested. The antibacterial activites of the prepared compounds were tested, and the results are discussed.

In the title compound, 6,6'-bis (methoxymethl)-4,4'-dimethyl-2,2'-[Ni(C34H34N2O4)], there are two independent molecules per asymmetric unit; both have a twofold axis. These molecular structures are two rotamers in the presence of steric repulsions between the ether groups, and the coordination geometry around the Ni11 atom is slightly tctracedrally distorted square planar. The rotamers are stacked alternately along the caxis.

In the title compound, [Ni2(c52H50N4O2)(C2H6O2)] (ClO4)2. 2H2O5, the two Niatoms are bridged by two Oatoms from the Robson mactocyclic ligand, forming a parallelogram, which has a two fold axis. The macrocyclic plane is formed from and Ni2O2 center and four Natoms from the ligand. Above the mactroccic plane and etbylen glycol moleccule bridges the two Niatoms, and the coordination geometry around eact Niatom is square pyramidal.

Eight rare earth metal (Ⅲ) complexes with quercetin ML3•6H2O[L=quercetin(3-OH group deprotonated); M=La, Nd, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Tm and Y] have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis. Complexometric titration, thermal analysis, conductivity, IR, UV, 1HNMR and fluorescence spectra techniques as well as cyclic voltammetry. The quercetin: metal stoichiometry and the equilibrium stabiliby constant for metal binding to quercetin have been determined. The results show that the suppression ratio of the complexes against the tested tumour cells are superior to quercetin-2H2O. The property of LaL3•6H2O reacting with calf thymus DNA was studied by fluorescence methods. The La-complex binding to DNA has been determined by flourescence titration in 0.05 M Tris-HCl, 0.5 M NaCl bufer (pH7.0). The results indicate that the interaction of the complex with DNA is very evident.

Novel chiral dimeric salen-Mn complexes were synthesized and their catalytic effects in asymmetric epoxidation of non-functionalized alkenes were investigated. The study was undertaken using a dimeric catalyst to establish whether high enantioselectivity could be achieved just like its active monomer, and whether the bigger complex could be efficiently recovered and reused by a simple controlling solvent system. The result showed that high activity and enantioselectivity were achieved. The dimeric complex formation enhanced the catalyst's reactivity and stability without compromising its enantioselectivity. Catalyst 3a, unlike its monomer, could be easily recovered and reused for several cycles under the mild reaction conditions before a marked decline in yield and ee was observed.

Complexes have been prepared from lanthaalde nitrates and bis (2-pyridvl-N-oxide) disulfide (L) and characterized on the bases of elemental analyses, IR spectra, 1H NIVIR spectra, aleetronic spectra, fluorescence spectra and molar conductance. The ligand L acts only as an N-oxide oxygen donor resulting in the formation of 9-membered chelate rings Preliminary results of in vitro tests on L1210 to and K562 cells show that all of them have antltumor activity.
