李佐宜 北京清华大学毕业,日本大阪大学工学博士,美国IEEE学会高级会员,日本应用磁学学会会员,华中科技大学教授,博士生导师。长期从事光存储、磁存储、磁传感器、功能薄膜技术等领域,包括材料、器件及其相关理论的研究与教学工作。1981~1984年以访问学者身份在日本大阪大学从事高密度光存储垂直磁化膜研究。国际上首先在轻稀土-过渡系铁磁性薄膜中研制成功了Sm-Co非晶垂直磁化膜,开辟了高密度信息记录介质新的研究方向,并阐明了该系材料垂直磁化膜形成机理。该系列论文发表后得到了许多国家学者的引用。1984年回国后,继续从事该领域的研究及教学工作,20多年来,主持完成了国家自然科学基金,国家教委重点项目,“七五”、“八五”、“九五”、“十五”期间的攻关及军事重点研究项目,863以及其他基金项目等共18项。以第一完成人获国家科技进步三等奖2项(1992年,1998年),湖北省自然科学奖一等奖1项(2000年),湖北省自然科学奖三等奖1项(2002年),国家教委科技进步奖二等奖3项(1988年,1991年,1997年),国防科技进步三等奖1项(2001年),发明专利2项,共发表论文310篇,多篇论文被SCI、EI收录及为国内外学者所引用,出版著作1本。先后十多次应邀赴美国、瑞典、荷兰、日本和香港等地访问及讲学。培养博士后3人,博士生30余人,硕士生40余人,1998年被评为全国优秀教师。 李佐宜的研究工作主要有以下方面:1,铁磁性垂直磁化膜制备及形成理论研究,在研制成功Sm-Co铁磁性非晶稀土垂直磁化膜的基础上,研究成功系列高密度垂直磁化膜记录介质。该系垂直磁化膜的研究成果正为实现高记录密度磁光记录,光磁混合存储所采用;2,基于交换耦合模型的磁光记录宽温化理论研究。提出了磁光盘抗蚀机理和防止方法,以及磁光记录介质疲劳特性的理论模型,建立了疲劳加速方程和使用寿命的评估方法;3,薄膜自旋阀巨磁阻效应材料及理论以及在高密度磁头和磁传感器的应用研究。

Post-deposition annealing was performed on trilayer films consisting of a C overcoat layer on top of CoCrPt/CrTi/glass substrate. We observed a coercivity of 3600 Oe in the films with a 4nm Covercoat, which was about three times larger than the coercivity of similar films without a Covercoat. This is most likely due to the significant decrease in intergranular exchange coupling for the films with Covercoat, as shown by the annealing treatment. It is believed that the diffusion of C into CoCrPt grain boundaries promotes magnetic grain isolation.

Temperature dependence of the properties of RE-TM thin films is very important for MO recording. In this paper, we studied the temperature dependence of the magnetic and magneto-optical properties of the amorphous LRE-HRE-TM single layer thin films and LRE-HRE-TM/HRE-TM couple-bilayered thin films. For LRE-HRE-TM single layer thin films, the temperature dependence of the magnetization was investigated by using the mean field theory. The experimental and theoretical results matched very well. With the LRE substitution in HRE-TM thin film, the compensation temperature Tcompdecreased and the curie temperature Tc remained unchanged. Kerr rotation angle became larger and the saturation magnetization Ms at room temperature increased. For LRE-HRE-TM/HRE-TM couple-bilayered thin films, comparisons of the temperature dependences of the coercivities and Kerr rotation angles were made between isolated sublayers and couple-bilayered thin film.

Abstract-A sequence of magnetic-optical ternary DyFeCo and quaternary SmDyFeCo films have been prepared by r.f. magnetron sputtering method. The magnetic, magneto-optical and temperature property of quaternary SmDyFeCo films was invcstigatcd comparcd with the ternary DyFeCo films. The results show that SmDyFeCo films have good reproducibility. The writing/erasing cycles of the SmDyFeCo films was estimated over 10 6 times.

Abstract-The introduction of the Cr interlayer caused magnetic decoupling in SmCoAlSi/Cr/SmCoAlSi and SmCoAlSi/Cr/SmCoCuTithin films. High coercivity of 3400~3840 Oe and extremely fine grain size in this two kinds of films were examined. Magnetic coupling within sublayers was introduced by using different substrate bias among the SmCoAlSi (deposited with substrate bias of-150 V)/SmCoAlSi(deposited with no substrate bias)/SmCoAlSi(deposited with substrate bias of -150V) triple layers. This multilayer exhibited high coercivity~2960 Oe and S* 0.96. SmCoAlSi/ SmCoCuTi/SmCoAlSi trilayer improved matching between the magnetic layer and the Cr underlayer, and led to increased in-plane anisotropy, high coercivity 3620 Oe and S* 0.91. The microstructures of these four kinds of media were also examined. Results obtained suggest that it is possible to produce SmCoAlSi-based multilayer media with the combined magnetic properties requied for the ultra-high magnetic recording density of~20 Gbit/in2.

Smxco100-x(20≤x≤30)films deposited on glass substrate and Sm37.8Co62.2 films deposited on silicon substrate with perpendicular magnetization have been prepared by a magnetron rf sputtering. The influence of sputtering conditions, I.e. bias voltage; substrate temperature; composition and perpendicular magnetic field on perpendicular anisotropy are reported in detail.

This paper describes the preparation of Sm-Co amorphous magnetic films by vacuum co-evaporation with two heating sources. Composition of the films is adjusted by con-trolling the evaporating rate proportion of sources. The substrate temperature during evaporation is 298K~301K. The microstructure and the composition were measured by TEM and SEM, respectivelly. The magneto-optical and the galvano magnetic effccts have been studied.

A sequence of Ti1-xAlx Nfilms has been prepared by rf reactive magnctron sputtcring. The optical and electric properties versus aluminum content x have been studied. Values suitable for magneto-optic protective layers have been aclnieved in Ti1-xAlx Nthin films with aluminum contentx>0.75. X-ray diffraction results show that Ti1-xAlx Nthin films in this study are a bcc structure up to x=0.751 furthcr increase in the aluminum content gives a wurtzite structure. All of the results show that the optical and electric properties of Ti1-xLlx Nfilms might be related to the crystal structure.

The fatigue characteristic of the amorphous Sm-substituted DyFeCo magneto-optical alloy films fabricated by R.F. magnetron sputtering method were investigated by accelerated pulse training method under the condition of magnetic field modulation plus laser pulse irradiation. The evaluation of fatigue characteristic is determined from the static magneto-optical signal readout level after several writing/erasing repetitions compared with initial level. The experimental dependence of fatigue characteristics is in good agreement with the model based on the JMA equation. Furthermore, the Avrami factor can be derived from the model. Experimental results show that it is very effective in studying the writing/erasing ability of magneto-optical films employed the method of combined the accelerated pulse training with the JMA equation and Sm-substituted HRE-TM alloys can act as a practical medium for MO storage at short wavelength.
