陈宏伟,博士,清华大学电子工程系信息光电子所助理研究员。2006年毕业于清华大学获工学博士学位。光纤通信专业,主要从事新型光网络、高速光纤传输和光纤无线传输系统方面研究,在国内外期刊和会议上发表学术论文二十余篇,其中包括IEEE JLT、IEEE PTL、Optics Express、Optical Letters、EL、Optical Engineering 、OFC、ECOC、CLEO、APOC、COIN、OECC等多个国内外知名期刊和会议,申请国内发明专利四项。曾获得清华大学电子工程系第一届学术新秀称号,清华大学第十一届“航天海鹰”杯学术新秀提名奖,清华大学2006年校级优秀博士毕业生,清华大学2006年校级优秀博士论文一等奖,2004年获亚太光通信会议最佳学生论文奖。应邀担任2005年、2007年、2008年亚太光通信会议(APOC)和2007年环太平洋激光与光电会议(CLEO-PR)技术委员会委员。作为主要完成人,参与完成了国家863项目“光标签交换网络中新型光标签处理技术的研究”,该课题被评为超额完成的项目,评分为A+。目前参与的主要项目有:国家自然科学基金重点项目“Tb/s级WDM光网络及其智能节点功能的研究”、“毫米波光纤无线系统理论与技术的研究”及国家863项目“光标签交换及其在下一代互联网中的应用技术研究”、“波分复用全双工毫米波光载无线系统研究”。

We propose and experimentally demonstrate a polarization shift keying label and a vestigial sideband carrier-suppressed return-to-zero payload scheme for a 43 Gbit/s all-optical label switching network. This scheme has a narrow channel bandwidth and a low penalty due to polarization mode dispersion impairments, which confirm it as a candidate technique for the next generation of optical networks.

We experimentally investigate the influence of vestigial sideband (VSB) filtering in a 40-Gbit/s optical system. Two kinds of optical filters and different pseudorandom bit sequences (PRBS) are used in experiment. The results show that optical filter ramp and PRBS length will cause different impacts in a VSB carrier suppressed return-to-zero system.

A novel vestigial-sideband (VSB) payload scheme is proposed for high-speed all-optical label-switching (AOLS) networks. The combination and separation of the VSB payload and the optical label is experimentally demonstrated, and the influences of the power-split ratio, time-delay interference, interferometric noise (IN), and wavelength difference between the payload and the label are analyzed. Simulation and experiment results show that this VSB payload scheme can highly reduce the channel bandwidth and it is easy to realize by using optical filters, so it is a potential technique to be used in optical networks with bit rate of 40 Gb/s.

A novel scheme based on 40Gb/s vestigial sideband modulation for optical payload and label multiplex and separation in all optical label switching (AOLS) networks is firstly proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The payload is combined and separated with wavelength labels by optical filters. The experiment results show that after label separation, the power penalties of payload and label are both very little. The influence of the wavelength difference between label and payload is also discussed. The power penalty of payload can be less than 1dB as long as the wavelength difference is larger than 0.1nm. This scheme highly reduces the channel bandwidth of payload and label and is proposing to be used in future optical Internet.

A novel method to generate ultra-wideband (UWB) monocycle pulses based on birefringence time delay in polarisation-maintaining fibre (PMF) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. Two polarityreverse pulses are generated by polarisation modulation using a single phase modulator. They are delayed in PMF with enough time to generate monocycle pulse.

A novel polarization shift keying label rewriting scheme in 43 Gbit/s all-optical label switching network by synchronous polarization modulation is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. The old label can be changed to a new one by just one single step without a label erasure process, which can simplify the network node structure.

A novel orthogonal modulation scheme of polarization-shift-keying label over vestigial sideband payload is proposed and experimentally demonstrated over a 43-Gb/s alloptical- label-switching transmission. With this scheme, a high extinction ratio of the label is reached, while a spectral efficiency of 0.8 b/s/Hz is achieved by weakening the imperfection of the high-speed pulse sequence in polarization modulation. Furthermore, this modulation scheme is relatively irrelevant with payload bit rate. The payload and label penalties after 80-km NZDSF fiber transmission and label erasure are 1.5 and 1 dB, respectively. The influence of filter center frequency offset is also investigated. Besides, a label rewriting method is introduced to simplify label processing in intermedia nodes. All these results show that this scheme can be a candidate technique for the next-generation optical network.

Ultrawide-band microwave amplification in the optical domain is proposed that covers the frequency range from 10 MHz to 10 GHz with over 10 dB gain. A partly carrier-suppressed optically carried microwave signal is generated and amplified by erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) in this scheme.

A novel composite approach to generate ultra-wideband (UWB) doublet pulses in optical domain through an electrical Gaussian pulse is proposed and demonstrated in this letter. Two pulses with reversed polarity generated by polarization modulation are fed into a differential group delay device and a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) wherein the optical pulse profile is modified. Doublet pulses are obtained after optical–electrical detection due to gain saturation and recovery mechanism in the SOA. The fractional bandwidth of doublet pulses exceeds 180%, fulfilling the UWB requirements.

All-optical label switching (AOLS) is a potential technique which is introduced to fully use the bandwidth capacity in future optical networks and the packet operations are mostly carried out in the optical layer. The key issue in the AOLS approach is the method of coding the optical label onto the packet as it directly determines the structure and the performance of the optical core router as well as the channel bandwidth efficiency and the transmission quality of the packet and its label. With the bit rate increasing above 40Gb/s, new labeling scheme is needed to enhance the spectral efficiency. In this paper, recent advanced labeling schemes for future high speed AOLS network are reviewed, especially the new schemes demonstrated in Tsinghua University, China. Two novel labeling scheme based on vestigial sideband (VSB) modulation are mainly introduced both in principle and experiment. One is compact wavelength labeling scheme which achieves high spectral efficiency since the wasteful double sideband of 40Gb/s has been reduced to vestigial sideband. This scheme can be easily carried out by using optical filters. Another is polarization shift keying scheme with VSB payload which has high spectral efficiency near to 0.8bit/s/Hz. This scheme utilizes two polarization orientations to carry the label signal and causes little distortions between the label and payload. And this scheme is also independent of the payload bit rate which is a good character for future networks. Both the two schemes have little power penalties after long distance SMF transmission and are promising to be used in beyond 40Gb/s optical networks.
