岳光溪1945年10月30日出生于北京;1964-1973清华大学热能系本科毕业、清华实验电厂工作;1973-1979山西岚县普明中学教师、岚县电机厂技术员;1979-1981清华大学热力学及传热学进修班毕业;1981-清华大学热能系讲师,副教授,教授、博导,煤清洁燃烧国家工程中心常务副主任,山东工业大学兼职教授,享受国家政府特殊津贴。其中,1987-1990,1992.3-1992.6 美国麻省理工学院访问学者、高级访问学者。先后主持承担国家八五科技攻关项目《220t/h循环流化床锅炉研制》(1991-1999)、国家经贸委《国产化75T/h 循环流化床锅炉完善化示范工程》(1994-1996)、国家九五科技攻关项目《100MW级在热循环流化床锅炉技术开发》(1996-2000)、国家十五科技攻关项目《大型循环流化床锅炉产业化技术开发》(2001-2004)、国家高技术研究发展计划(863)《非融渣-融渣两段式煤气化炉》(2002-2004)、国家高技术研究发展计划(863)《超临界循环流化床》、(2002-2004)等国家级重大项目情况,日本国家能源发展组织(NEDO)的《循环流化床示范工程》(2001-2005)项目,以及IHI、ABB-CE、IHI等国际知名公司的国际合作研究项目。国际上首次发现了焦炭燃烧N2O形成机理、密相区气体扩散阻力,提出了循环流化床物料平衡、燃烧热量释放规律、焦炭中温失活等新观点,形成了一套完整的不同于国内外文献的循环流化床燃烧理论体系,并逐渐为国内外同行所接受;提出循环流化床锅炉的定态设计理论,完成了国内第一个循环流化床锅炉设计导则及热力计算软件,揭示了国外长期封锁的商业机密。使用该导则及程序对百余台循环流化床锅炉进行了成功的设计;提出了改进的方形分离器循环流化床技术,形成了为国外认可的异型水冷分离循环床实用新型专利,与企业合作开发了具有完全独立知识产权的15MWe-100MWe循环流化床锅炉,产品累计产值超过10亿人民币;基于对循环流化床内部过程的深入理解,采用机理仿真,开发了世界上第一台应用于实际锅炉的循环流化床仿真机,在两次国际会议上引起轰动,被公认达到了世界领先水平;清华大学的循环流化床燃烧技术出口日本,成为中国循环流化床技术出口的唯一先例。在第15届国际流化床燃烧会议上,发表的文章获得ASME最佳文章奖,这是中国人在历届国际流化床燃烧会议上唯一的获奖文章;由于对循环流化床理论及工程的深刻理解及经验,曾多次参与指导多个重大循环流化床工程策划及改造项目,为国家节约了大量外汇资金;近期提出非融渣-融渣两段式煤气化新技术,得到科技部支持。在国际上是知名的流化床工程实力派专家,与国际著名流化床燃烧专家如瑞士苏黎世高工的Reh教授、麻省理工学院的A. Sarofim 教授、瑞典的Bo. Leckner 教授齐名,为国际著名锅炉公司如ABB-CE、ALSTROM、FW、IHI所称道。鉴于研究水平和学术声望,多次被邀请在国际会议上发表主题报告。曾获获ASME最佳文章奖,国家科技攻关计划先进个人、清华大学技术效益奖、国家科技攻关计划优秀科技成果奖等奖励。申请发明专利22项,主编专著2本,发表论文近300篇,其中被SCI、ISTP、Ei收录50余篇。

Char combustion is on a special reducing condition in the dense bed of a circulating fluidized bed combustor. Experimental findings were used to develop comprehensive mathematical model to simulate the hydrodynamic and combustion processes in a circulating fluidized bed combustor. In the model, gas-solid interaction was used to account for the mass transfer between the bubble phase and the emulsion phase in the dense bed, which contributes to the reducing atmosphere in the dense bed. A core-annular structure was assumed in the dilute area rather than a onedimension model. The submodels were combined to build the comprehensive model to analyze the combustion in CFBC and the effect of operating parameters on the coal combustion. The model predictions agree well with experimental results.

A comprehensive model for predicting the sulfur retention performance in circulating fluidized bed combustors was developed which involves the different residence times, the wide particle size distribution and the different forms of sulfur in the coal. In addition, the reductive decomposition of CaSO4 is highlighted. The simulation results from the model show that the sulfur contents, the bed temperature, the sorbent particle size distribution and the sorbent activity or the maximum conversion rate can significantly influence the sulfur retention performance in CFB combustors.

The effect of boundary layer reactions on the conversion of char-N to NO, N2O and HCN was studied by a coupled experimental/theoretical approach. In the experimental part, the evolution of HCN at conditions of a batch fluidized bed reactor was studied. The results show that the char-N conversion to HCN is very low under normal oxidizing conditions. This explains why it was not detected by early studies of this system. The results also suggest that the release of HCN is related to gases released when the char is oxidized rather than to late devolatilization reactions. The product distribution is modeled using heterogeneous reactions on the char surface coupled to homogeneous reactions in the gas phase. Three cases were analyzed. In Case A, only the heterogeneous production of N2O and NO was considered. Case B considered HCN and NO heterogeneous production. Finally, Case C combined cases A and B by allowing the heterogeneous production of NO, N2O and HCN. Cases A and B predict most of the qualitative trends for the char-N conversion to N2O reported in the literature. However, Case A fails to predict the experimentally observed release of HCN when oxidation around the particle is suppressed. Among the three cases, Case C is the one that closely predicts experimental observables. Finally, the predictions obtained by the model are used to define further experiments, particularly on the evolution of gas concentration in the boundary layer with char burnout, that can be useful in order to obtain more insight in the mechanism of nitrogen oxide formation during char oxidation.

Local bed to wall heat transfer coefficient in the furnace of a 75t/h CFB boiler was measured with a heat flux probe and bulk density sampling probe which were developed by Tsinghua University. The test result shows the strong relation between local heat transfer coefficient with the local bulk density and the bed temperature. The result was compared with the data from literature. According to the experimental data, a semi-empirical model was developed to predict the local heat transfer coefficient based on the bed temperature and bulk density. The prediction of the model is basically matching the published data.

Separator is one of the key components of circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boiler, which directly influence the performance of the CFB boiler. Only when the separator supplied enough circulating solids, the bed can work under the material balance and energy balance condition. The square cyclone with curved inlet has shown the unique advantages such as compact size, no expansion joint, excellent reliability and lower operating cost. So it can fulfill well the scaling up of CFB boiler. A series of tests have been continued on the large-scale cold model test system for characteristic dimension 700mm square cyclone by changing the length of the vortex fonder, diameter of vortex finder and the length of vertical part of square cyclone. The pressure drop in the square separator and the fraction collection efficiency under different operation conditions were measured. The results of the experiment showed that the square cyclone with curved inlet has high collection efficiency and low pressure drop. The cut size d50 is around 20μm~30μm and the critical size d99 is around 80μm~160μm. The collection efficiency may be the function of the length of vertical part, diameter of the vortex finder, the length of the vortex finder and the speed of air at inlet.

Coal gasification is one of the key clean coal projects in China. A partial coal gasification of CFBB co-generation cycle process is suggested by Tsinghua University, which takes the hot circulating ash as the heating source to pyrolyze the coal in a steam fiuidized gasifier to generate the coal gas and tar. The coal gas is the fuel of the gas turbine. The char is burnt in the furnace to generate steam. In this process, One of the key technology is to reduce the yield of tar and get more gas. In this paper, the experiment investigation of two main components in tar: benzene and toluene catalytic cracking over three kind of circulating ash particles from CFBB in a fixed bed reactor, is introduced. And the catalytic mechanics is also discussed. The experimental results show circulating ash promote the cracking reactions of tar, the cracking reactions active energy of the reactance decrease compared with that over quartz sand. The temperature needed for same conversion ratio is decreased 80 C to 160 C for different ashes. The cracking gas product is more for ash than for sand. The solid product is coke for both case, which deactivates the ash. While the activity of the ash can be regenerated by burning the coke on the surface of ash particles. The total yield of gas increases.

It was confirmed that the combustion action in dense bed is different between the bubbling bed and circulating fluidized bed by the measurement of the gas profile distribution and combustion fraction distribution along the furnace height. The bed quality results in the mass transfer resistance increasing, which effects the combustion reaction in dense bed. The combustion reaction in dense bed is in reduce condition. The combustion occurs all along the furnace even in the cyclone. A comprehensive model is proposed here to predict the axial gas concentration profile in the dense be, which is considered the mass transfer resistance between the solid and gas in dense bed. Calculations indicated that the resistance has a great effect on the combustion in the dense bed. Experimental data and results of the model are in good agreement.

Since the first pilot 75 t/h water cooled separator CFB boiler was in operation in 1996, a hot test program was been conducted by Tsinghua University and several boiler works, so as to promote the scaling of CFB boiler. The present paper introduces the test program and the primary results, such as the separator efficiency, material balance, solid bulk density, heat transfer along the height of the furnace, et al. Besides the traditional test technology, some new developed apparatus was used in the hot test. According to the experience obtained from the boiler, the improvement measure was taken for the second and third boiler, which were in commercial operation in 1998. The first operation experience of the second and third boiler proves the effect of the improvement. Considering the experience and the test program, the scaling up design of water cooled separator was done. The present paper also introduces the design consideration and feature of the 130 t/h and 220 t/h CFB boiler.

The material balance in CFB furnace has been proved important for the performance of the boiler. The bed inventory of CFB boiler is composed of fuel ash and sorbent additives. It is necessary for the engineer to know the ash size formation character of fuel before make a proper design of the boiler and the auxiliary system. Traditionally, the only way to know the ash formation information is by the fuel combustion test in pilot CFB furnace. Because of the high cost of the test and the insufficient information from the test, such test was rarely done. The present investigation is proposing a simple laboratory test procedure instead of the pilot CFB combustion. The validation of the method is introduced in present paper. Two kinds of coals include the coal from Gardanne 250MW CFB were tested by present method and the result is compared with the data from Gardanne boiler.

Studies on circulating fluidized bed (CFB) boilers have being conducted at the Tsinghua University (TH) for about two decades and much of works are done to link the fundamentals with practical application. A full set of design theory was developed and some key elements of this theory are presented in this paper. First, a classification of state of the solid-gas two-phase flow in CFB boiler is given. TH's studies validated that a CFB boiler can be generally described as the superposition of a fast bed in the upper part with a bubbling bed or turbulent bed in the bottom part. A concept model of material balance for the open system of CFB boiler was developed and later improved as a more comprehensive 1-D model taking ash formation, particle attrition and segregation in bed into account. Some results of the models are discussed. Then the concept of State Specification of a CFB boiler is defined and discussed. The State Specification is regarded as the first step to design a CFB and a base to classify different style of CFB boiler technologies for various CFB boiler manufacturers. The State Specification adopted by major CFB boiler makers is summarized and associated importance issues are addressed. The heat transfer model originally developed by Leckner and his coworkers is adopted and improved. It is further calibrated with experimental data obtained on the commercial CFB boiler measurements. The principle, improvements and application of the model are introduced. Some special tools developed for heat transfer field test are also given. Also, combustion behaviors of char and volatile content are studied, and the combustion difference between a CFB boiler and a bubbling bed is analyzed. The influence of volatile content and size distribution is discussed. The concept of vertical distribution of combustion and heat in CFB boiler furnace is introduced and discussed as well. In the last, the suggested design theory of CFB boiler is summarized.
