鲁东明教授,男,汉族,1968年1月生,浙江余姚人,现任浙江大学计算机科学与技术学院教授,博士生导师。 1985年9月面试进入浙江大学计算机科学与工程学系学习,分别于1989年7月、1991年7月、1994年12月获工学学士、硕士、博士学位;1994年 12月毕业后留校从事教学研究工作,分别于 1997年10月、2000年12月晋升副教授、教授,2003年起担任博士生导师。兼任浙江大学网络与信息中心副主任(主持工作),浙江大学敦煌学研究中心副主任;中国计算机学会计算机支持协同工作专业委员会(筹)委员,浙江省敦煌学研究会常务理事、副会长,中国博物馆学会数字化专业委员会委员;曾担任第四届全国计算机支持协同工作学术会议(CCSCW’2004)程序委员会副主席,第二届中华文化遗产数字化及保护国际研讨会程序委员会副主席。目前,在教学方面主要承担《编译技术》、《多媒体信息处理技术》、《数字文化与媒体网络》等本科或研究生课程;在科研方面主要承担数字媒体网络技术及系统、古代遗存数字化保护与研究技术、协同虚拟环境、网络信息安全方面的研究工作,承担了国家自然科学基金重点、973、863、国家计委产业化前期、国家十五科技攻关、国家网络与信息安全保障持续发展计划、浙江省重大科技攻关课题等十多项,获得科研成果4项、申请专利10项、出版著作2部、获国家科技进步二等奖1项、省部级科技进步一等奖1项,发表学术论文60余篇,其中SCI收录6篇、EI收录7篇、ISTP收录15篇。并于2004年入选国家“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”。

This paper introduces a virtual Dunhuang mural restoration system in collaborative network environment. It describes the style of Dunhuang mural, analyzes the reasons of mural spoilage, and presents the necessity to develop a collaborative mural restoration GroupWare. It describes the components and the workflow of mural restoration in detail, solves some key technologies in the system. In the end, it introduces the system architecture, and presents the system interface and some restored results.

Image segmentation has been the subject of considerable research activity over the last three decades. This paper proposes an algorithm for color image segmentation by region growing combined with the image enhancement based on the Bezier model. Using Bezier curve model has a direct impact on the quality of the image, and will enhance the boundary differences between the objects and their background making the image segmentation task easier. The segmentation starts from a seed in the form of 3*3 image blocks to avoid the noise point. It grows up the region by adding adjacent pixels that are satisfied with the homogeneous criteria with the seed point, expand point and the growing region respectively. Using the perceptual color clustering, color images is quantized and the similar colors are classified based on NBS color distance. The experimental results illuminate that the algorithm the paper proposed is effective.

With the availability of broadband Internet Access, Networked Virtual Environment (NVE) is ready for deployment over the Internet. Of existing NVE communication architectures, the most suitable one for Inter-networked VE is clientlserver architecture with multi-server. However under this architecture each client connects with only one server: so when a client migrates from one server to another, it should disconnect with the previous server and make connection to another server. Because of the Internet' s inherent latency problem, there will be an abrupt appearance in other clients' view due to it. To avoid this abrupt appearance, the paper bright out a new NVE's communication architecture in which each client connects with other server (s) in advance according to prediction. The new architecture was adopted by Tourism Expo' 2003 of Zhejiang Province, and achieved a great success.

Cooperative work is becoming a comprehensive and effective product design method, and the application of multimedia and multiple design modes has made cooperative design system more natural and easier to use. By now, most of the cooperative design is specific-task oriented and carried out through a specific multimedia cooperative design tool. But with the improved requirements of agility and design efficiency of product design, more and more attention is paid to the design platform that supports multiple design tasks using multiple cooperative design tools. Based on the analysis of a comprehensive cooperative design model, this paper presents a framework supporting multimedia and multiple design modes. This framework is based on an open hierarchy, which is able to embed multiple cooperative design tools. And it also provides a series of cooperative design services. Then several key technologies of the framework are discussed: the intelligent agent based cooperative tool configuration technique, synchronous/asynchronous design mode control, consistency control of the cooperative design object, and at last the extensible multimedia organization model. Finally, this paper will present an application example of the framework, and then will evaluate the framework and draw a conclusion.

Chinese civilization has accumulated many heritage sites over thousands of years. Dunhuang Mogao Cave, located in Gansu province, is typical. Well preserved to date, the caves contain more than 555 grottoes, 2, 000 painted statues, and 5, 000 square meters of wall paintings. However, they face serious damage from many different factors. Scientists and artists have worked for a long time on how to preserve and restore the murals' colors, but still have not found satisfactory methods. Discovering how to use advanced computer techniques to preserve, restore, and reuse Dunhuang fresco art information is a very interesting and complex task. In our project, we integrate many techniques, such as image processing, informaton retrieval, knowledge representation, and intelligence reasoning, to deal with these problems.

The paper proposes a computer aided way for culture heritage protection and restoration, which is based on virtual navigation and image processing technologies. It first creates the database for the digital information of the cave construction and the mural and also provides some operations, such as insert, quev ere, for the database management. In a virtual environment of the cave, users can navigate, mark the disease area, inquiry the information about the mural monitor and analyze the environment data, and also do virtual mural restoration and shnulate the mural evolution without damaging the heritage itself. The article introduces the following technologies: virtual construction of the cave, knowledge expression of Mural interactive disease marking, object extracting, color restoration with mural knowledge, color harmonization for simulating the mural evolution, and also the functions, modules, workflow of our system.

Digitization technologies play more and more important role in relic protection now. This article summarizes the current status of digitization technology application in relic protection. Combined with work achieved in the digitization protection, restoration and development of Dunhuang Cave recent years, the application of digitization technology in the relic protection fields such as information acquire, display, mural copy and intelligent pattern creation of Dunhttang style is introduced. Artificial Intelligence and Muir-media technology was combined with arts; many techniques were developed to resolve the problems and achieved excellent results. At the end of the article, a conclusion about achievement and experience of digitization yelic protection is drawn and some possible future direct'ions are also suggested

敦煌石窟是我国乃至世界佛教艺术的瑰宝,建于西魏的285窟以壁画保存完整,内容丰富而成为敦煌石窟的精品之一。使用虚拟展示技术可以极大地方便人们对敦煌壁画艺术的欣赏,但是对于285窟壁画上丰富的佛教故事无法充分的表达。提出了285窟多媒体集成虚拟展示,对285窟的三维模型进行多媒体嵌入支持扩展,通过在3DS文件中增加多媒体信息结点,将三维模型与多媒体数据库进行有机整合;对热点区域建立基于对象而非基于面片的热点定义,有效地避免了在使用LOD方法中热点随面片简缩而消失的问题;在实时交互中将多媒体播放嵌入到虚拟场景中,增强了多媒体和虚拟环境的融合程度。通过多媒体集成虚拟展示,丰富了285窟的表现形式,展现能力得到了增强,取得了较好的效果。文中对285窟的建模技术以及系统中采用的实时绘制技术和真实感绘制技术做了介绍。

古代一些璧画,由于长期受外界环境,如光照、温湿度的影响,已程度不同地产生了破损,为了使人们能够欣赏到原怍的风貌,可以采用计算机来进行模拟和复原,现以敦煌莫高窟壁画为应用背景,提出了一个使破损壁画虚拟复原和湃变模拟的模型以及计算机模拟方法。它可以为复原性临摩、壁画研究以及壁画保护工作者提供参考。根据敦煌保护专家对壁面颜料成分的研究和艺术家积累的经验知识。参考目前保存得比较完好的一些壁画·通过综合利用色彩学知识、图象处理、人工智能等计算机技术。实现了把一些变色、褪色、脱落的敦煌壁画复原为初画成时金碧辉煌的景象,并摸拟出其在外界环境因素影响下渐变到现状的过程。其结果令人满意,部分成果已在德国汉诺威20OO年世界博览会上晨出。

Many rare culture relics and sites have been on the verge of great danger because of natural disaster, eco-nomic and tour development, etc. How to conserve, research and exploit the heritage resource is becoming more and more instant and important. In this paper, we discuss how t ocomserve, rebuild and restore culture relics and sites digitally, through the integration of computer science and ocnventional heritage-protection technology. Now, we have developed Dunhuang Cave Virtual Navigation System through taking advantage of the Virtual Reality, Image Processing and Artificial Intelligence technology. These works improve the efficiency of heritage conservation and research extremely.
