丁培道,1935年生,教授,博士生导师。1987年至1988年在英国帝国理工学院作客座教授。曾任重庆大学冶金及材料工程系主任,现任重庆大学材料科学与工程研究所所长,重庆市轻合金材料工程技术研究中心主任,重庆大学材料科学与工程一级学科的学术带头人。获人事部授予的“国家有突出贡献中青年专家”和国家教委、国家科委授予的“全国高等学校优秀科技工作者”称号。现任教育部科技委材料学部委员,中国材料研究学会理事,重庆材料学会理事长,重庆市科技顾问团成员。获国家科技进步三等奖2项,国家发明四等奖1项,省、部、委科技进步一等奖4项,二等奖3项,三等奖1项。获国家发明专利3项,发表了学术论文180余篇,其中被SCI、EI等收录80篇次,主编和参编专著5本。曾指导过前苏联高访学者列夫托夫教授。先后赴美、英、法、德、意、加、日、俄、苏兰、南朝等国多次出席国际会议、访问或讲学,建立了广泛的国际学术联系。

综述了钢的薄带连铸及铝合金的薄带铸轧发展现状,简要介绍了在高速钢、硅钢和镁合金的薄带连铸实验研究方面取得的进展。认为钢的薄带连铸技术近年取得了重要突破,未来10年薄带连铸技术可能快速发展,发展特殊性能或难加工合金的薄带连铸可充分发挥快速凝固的优势;采用立式双辊法可望进一步提高铝合金的浇铸速度,特别是高牌号铝合金的浇铸速度,应积极发展镁合金的薄带连铸技术,以改善镁合金板材的塑性加工及耐腐蚀问题。

The thin strip casting of high speed steels W3Mo2Cr4VSi and W6Mo5Cr4V2 has been investigated. The as-cast strips are of 2.5-4 mm thickness, reduced by hot rolling to 1.8-2 mm thickness. The steel sheets are used to make power hacksaw blades. The experimental results show that the metallurgical quality of the as-cast strips is now at an acceptable level, and the as-cast carbides in the strips are very free although the eutectic carbide network still exists. However, most of the eutectic carbide network in the strips can be broken up by post-treatment. Cutting test reveals that the performance of these hacksaw blades is satisfactory, compared with that of hacksaw blades made of conventionally produced steel sheets.

A new presstreless infiltration method was developed to place a siticon dioxide particle reinforced layer on the surface of an industrial ingot mould without changing the production process of the ingot mould. The morphology' and structure of the composite layer were investigated by optical and scanning electron microscopy The sereice life and thermal characteristics of the reinforced mould were tested during their use in practical casting processes It was found Ihat a 4mm thickness composite layer can be obtained on the surface of an ingot mould with this method, The reinforced mould can be used directly without any extra machining process. The seroice life of the new mould ts twice that of the original for the same application condition. The heat resistance and wear esistance of the mould were evidenty, improtved.

In the present paper, the microstructure and properties of laser surface hardened M2 high speed steel have been studied. The influences of preheat treatment processes, post heat treatment processes and laser parameters on the properties of the laser treated zone are also investigated. It was shown that the surface hardness and softening resistance of M2 high speed steel are evidently inereasd with laser surface hardening. The M2 high speed steel which is quenched al 1220℃ and triple tempered at 560℃ for 3 h has higher hardness after laser surface hardening. The grain size of laser hardened zone is much smaller than that of the traditional quenched high speed steels at different quenching temperatures, The amounts of retained austende and undissolved carbides are decreased, and disperse carbides precipitate during laser surface hardening.

In the present work T15 high speed steel powder was couted on a low alley, tool steel by a laser surface overlap coating process to achieve a large area coating hayer. The microstructure omposition, and hardess ddistribution of the coating layer were studied by ooptical microscope, seanning electron microscope, energy dispersice X-ray and microhardnessdeterminations. It was shown that the coniposition exhibited a heterogeneous distribution which was related to conection in the molten pool during the overlap coating process. The microstructure of the toe,ring larger exhibited, periodw feature, aM a periodic hardness distribution was present. The hardness. of the coating layer was between 800 and 1000 HV (100G). After tempering at 560℃, file hardness letel increased to-1100 HV (100g) and a more bomogenous hardness distribution was abtuned tbroughout the three layer

The effects of silicon additions up to 3.5 wt% on the mechanical properties and microstructure of high speed steels 6W3Mo2Cr4V, W3Mo2Cr4V and W9Mo3Cr4V have been investigated. In order to understand these effects further, a Fe-6Mo-0.9C alloy is also used. The results show that silicon additions can increase the temper hardness of steels Fe-16Mo-0.9C, 6W3Mo2Cr4V and W3Mo2Cr4V, but yield an opposite influence on the temper hardness in W9Mo3Cr4V steel. A critical tempering temperature exists for the bending strength of high speed steels containing silicon. If tempering is carried out at temperatures lower than the critical temperature, the bending strength of the high speed steels can be improved by the addition of silicon, otherwise their bending strength is decreased. Transmission electron microscopy reveals that silicon additions can obviously refine secondary hardening carbides and inhibit the formation of M5C cementite at peak temperature. However, they are also found to accelerate both the depletion of martensite and the formation of coarse M6C precipitates during tempering. The mechanism whereby silicon additions affect the secondary hardness of high speed steels is discussed in detail, and the types of high speed steel in which silicon additions can be used are suggested.

A systematic investigation bins been made of the effects of m/sob metal addition on the hot. plasticity of an AI-Mg-Si alloy containing 0.75% Mg and 0.39% Si by using a hot torsional test, and the mechanism of these effects examined by means of scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The results show that the lint plasticity of the alloy is obviously improved at 480-560℃ by addition of 0.16% misch metal For this remson the homogenization process of the AI-Mg Si-RE alloy RE6063 can be eliminated.

The spatial distribution and structure of as-easl carbides and the effects, of W, Mo, and V content on the morphohlogy and amount of as-cast carhides in high-speed steels were sludicd, system-atically It was, hown that increasing the Mo and decreasing the W content led to a decrease in the amount of total eutectic carbide and an increase in the MC and M: C c; trbides The cutectic morphology changed from skeletal to platelike when the content of Mo increased The prescnce of V favored not only the formation of MC carhide but also the formation of M.C carbide and rcuced the formation of M: C carbide, Increasing V led to an increase in the size of the cutectic carbides.

In this paper, a dimensionless number, i.e. Bond number used for laser irradiating on metal surface in the liquid state, is physically defined in order to quantitalively study the buoyance driven flow and the surface tension driven flow, with a measure of the surface tension driving force as compared TO the buoyance driving force. The findings show that the surface tension driving fore and the buoyance driving force are approximately equal in their acting intensities, under some condition, therefore, the buoyance driving force should contribute its share to the convection of the melt.
