曹传宝,1983毕业于南京大学化学系,83年至86年在中科院安徽光机所工作,1986年和1992年分别在中国科技大学获硕士和博士学位。92年至94年在复旦大学电子工程系从事博士后研究,94年开始在北京理工大学工作,96年至97年在意大利国际理论物理中心访问研究,99至2000年在香港理工大学访问研究,98年聘为教授,2000年聘为博导。现为北京理工大学材料科学与工程学院副院长,中国微米与纳米技术学会理事,中国电子学会集成电路与电子材料分会理事,中国机械工程学会生物制造分会理事。主持或参加的科研项目包括:国家自然科学基金、国家高技术研究(863)、国家重大基础研究(973)、国防973、新世纪人才基金以及博士点基金项目等,主要从事低维信息功能材料及生物医用材料的研究工作,包括一维半导体纳米材料及器件、纳米复合材料及应用、新型功能薄膜材料及其应用、天然高分子材料的改性、人工小口径血管材料等的研究,在国内外核心期刊发表论文一百四十余篇,其中SCI收录论文八十余篇,被SCI引用四百多次,申请专利十一项,在国际会议上四次作邀请报告,出版教材或专著3部。JACS、JPC、Biomaterials等十余种国际期刊的审稿人。已培养毕业博士生7名,毕业硕士生17名,博士后1名。

【期刊论文】Preparation of Insoluble Fibroin Films Without Methanol Treatment

Insoluble fibroin films were prepared without methanol treatment. A 15 wt % fibroin solution was obtained through concentration, and then, the insoluble film was achieved by the adjustment of the drying temperature and rate. These films were examined through Fourier transform infrared–attenuated total reflection, X-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy to determine the structure of the silk fibroin. The physical and mechanical properties were investigated to discover the feasibility of using these films as biomedical materials. When fibroin films were dried above 60℃, abundant -sheet crystals existed in the fibroin films, and many globule-containing micelles aggregated and interacted with each other, which resulted in excellent mechanical properties of the regenerated fibroin films in the wet state. Interestingly, the amide III band of the random coil structure in the fibroin films dried at 70 and 80℃ was shifted to a lower frequency, 1228cm 1, which meant that a partly orientated structure formed. This may have also affected the mechanical properties of the fibroin films. The tensile strength and breaking elongation of the films dried at 70℃ were 29.8MPa and 59.6%, which is distinctly superior to fibroin films treated with methanol. If the drying temperature was raised to 60℃, the stability of the films in water was also excellent.

Intercalation of ZnO quantum dots into two-dimensional (2D) laminated sodium lauryl sulfonate films in a colloidal solution was demonstrated. Without any substrates, hybrid films composed of a dispersed ZnO dots layer and organic films exhibit a high stability and regular 2D superlattice stacking after removal of cosurfactant molecules and water. The 2D superlattice films were characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), and X-ray diffraction (XRD). UV-visible absorption and photoluminescence spectra were used to investigate the growth of ZnO QDs between organic films and study their collective optical characteristics. 2005 Elsevier Inc. Semiconductor ZnS nanotubes, with outer diameters in the range of 37-52nm and lengths up to 3 microns, have been successfully synthesized from solutions containing a nonionic surfactant, Triton X-100 (t-octyl-(OCH2CH2)xOH, x=9,10). The as-synthesized nanotubes have been characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscope (TEM). The growth mechanism of nanotubes has also been discussed.

Blending degummed fibroin (DF) or insoluble fibroin microspheres with concentrated fibroin solution, the insoluble films were obtained through drying the solution at 40-45℃. The conformation of silk fibroin films was analyzed by infrared spectrum and X-ray diffractometry. The results demonstrated that β-sheet conformation increased rapidly when the degummed silk or insoluble microspheres blended with fibroin, while the pure SF membrane was mainly composed of α/random coil conformation when the other conditions kept same. This suggested that fibroin microspheres and degummed fibroin could induce the formation of β-sheet crystal and the insoluble films, without methanol after-treatment, could be obtained at approximately room temperature. Although the fibroin films blending with DF had many protuberances, the films containing fibroin microspheres had the smooth surface and could be used effectively in biotechnological materials and biomedical application.

Fe0.32Ni0.68 alloy nanotubes have been successfully synthesized by electrochemical deposition using a polycarbonate membrane template. The transmission electron microscope and scanning electron microscope observations reveal that the nanotubes have a conical morphology with two ends stuffed and a hollow structure. The length and diameter of the nanotubes are 7-8 μm and 200 nm, respectively. The aspect ratio (length to diameter) is as large as 40. Magnetic measurements show that the coercivities of the nanotubes for an applied parallel and perpendicular field are about 21 and 55 Oe, respectively. The hysteresis loops indicate that the nanotubes were more easily magnetized in applied parallel field than in applied perpendicular field. The mechanism of nucleation and growth of these nanotubes is also discussed.

Free-standing, hexagonal GaN micropyramid/nanowire homostructures have been successfully synthesized on a large scale by a facile carbon-assisted thermal reduction route. The product was investigated using SEM, XRD, TEM, EDS, SAED, Raman and PL. The pyramids have lengths of 5-8μm, and the maximal lateral size of 2-3μm, exhibiting the growth characteristic of a hexagonal crystal along the c-axis. A single nanowire is grown out from the end tip of the pyramid along the 0001 growth direction, indicating its epitaxial relationship with the pyramid. Raman studies reveal the characteristics of the hexagonal structure and high crystallinity of the product. The room temperature PL spectrum displays strong band-edge emission centred at 372nm. The slight redshift originates from N vacancies caused by Ga-rich growth conditions. The formation mechanism is also discussed. The unique micro/nano-structures are good entities for the investigation of fundamental physical phenomena and also as building blocks for functional nanodevices.

Although many novel approaches for producing small-caliber arterial grafts have been developed, problems with mechanical properties and blood compatibility have up to now prevented clinical implementation. Blending anticoagulant agents with natural biomaterials having excellent cell attachment and growth properties, and making the release time of anticoagulant agents exceed the time required by endothelial tissue regeneration, might be a novel method to prepare appropriate biomaterials used in small-diameter arterial grafts. In this article, an insoluble fibroin film, having excellent blood compatibility and mechanical properties,was obtained by blending with heparin. The structural properties of the films were examined through Fourier-transform infrared attenuated total reflectance (FTIR-ATR) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results indicated that plentiful β-sheet crystals existed in fibroin films containing heparin. The tensile strength and elongation at break of film containing heparin were, respectively, 10.3MPa and 54 % in the wet state, which can satisfy the mechanical requirements of bloodcontacting materials such as small-diameter tubing. The clot times [activated partial thromboplastin time (APTT), thrombin time (TT) and prothrombin time (PT)] all exceeded the measurement limit of the clot detection instrument. Even the APTT and TT of film immersed in water for 28 days exceeded the measurement limit of the clot detection instrument. The in vitro culture of endothelial cells on the film was also investigated, and the result indicated that cells can grow to cover all of the available surface area of the film within 8 days. Fibroin films containing heparin could retain blood compatibility for 28 days, which means that this is a promising material for small-diameter artery applications.

Carbon nitride films were synthesized by electrodeposition from an organic liquid on silicon substrates at temperatures lower than 80℃. The N/C ratio in the films is about 0.25. The x-ray diffraction measurement indicates that the film contains some C3N4 polycrystalline phases. The Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy analyses suggest the presence of both single and double carbon-nitrogen bonds. The deposition mechanisms are also discussed. Our paper shows that the electrodeposition technique may hold some promise for synthesizing the metastable compound C3N4 in the liquid phase.

Stoichiometric ZnSe nanorods have been successfully synthesized through a simple and convenient surfactant-assisted reaction. The microstructures and the chemical compositions of the as-synthesized nanorods have been investigated by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), the energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results reveal that the as-synthesized materials selecting sodium laurylsulfonate (SDS) as surfactant consist of ZnSe nanorods with diameters and lengths ranging in 16-20nm and 120-270nm, respectively. Selected area electron diffraction (SAED) pattern shows the single-crystal nature of as-synthesized ZnSe nanorods. The room temperature photoluminescence (PL) measurements show a very broad peak centered at 453 nm (2.74 eV), which is attributed to the quantum size confinement effect of the nanorods.

To improve the blood-compatibility of polyurethane, the co-solvent of tetrahydrofuran and water, a new solvent system for blending polyurethane and heparin, was proposed. After solvent casting, heparin was blended in a polyurethane film. The ATRFTIR was used to analyze the surface chemical element and the contact angle was measured to investigate the hydrophilicity of the surface of the PUs. As the amount of heparin increased, the surface hydrophilicity was increased and all the clot times exceeded the measurement limit of the clot detection instrument when the heparin loaded on the polyurethane films was 3%, 5% and 7%. After the films were immersed in the phosphate buffered saline for 30 days, the activated partial thromboplastin time and thrombin time still exceeded the measurement limit of the clot detection instrument.
