郭林教授,男, 41 岁, 工学博士, 德国洪堡学者,博士生导师。从1994年开始从事纳米材料的制备、微结构和特性研究课题,取得了一些十分有意义的研究成果,如:利用微乳液法首次在国际上制备出单分散的氧化锌纳米颗粒和形状规则的六方相纳米棒,研究成果得到国内外同行的关注和认同。1998年底由中科院博士后出站到北航材料学院工作,2001年4月成为首批三位北航校长直聘教授之一;2001年8月获德国洪堡基金会的资助赴德国德累斯顿技术大学低温物理所从事氧化锌电致发光期件的开发工作,合作教授为该研究所的所长,德国著名物理学家Joerg Weber教授;2003年2月回到北航工作。
近五年来共指导博士研究生7名,其中2名已经于毕业出国作博士后,指导硕士研究生6名,做为项目负责人承担国家自然科学基金面上项目,中科院重大项目子课题,纳米专项子课题,国防“863”子课题, 国防预研项目等6项研究课题。在纳米材料制备、微结构表征和光电特性等方面取得了一些初步的成果, 共发表论文80余篇,其中SCI收录论文52篇, 其中包括以北航为第一单位和第一作者署名发表在国际化学权威杂志“美国化学会志”( JACS )上的论文两篇, 研究成果受到国内外同行的关注和肯定。论文共被SCI引用280余次,单篇引用61次。2001年获教育部优秀青年教师资助计划资助,2002年发表在美国化学会志 “J. Am. Chem. Soc.” 上的论文获2003年北京市青年科技论文一等奖, 2003年获北航首届青年教师奖, 2004年获教育部新世纪优秀人才支持计划资助,现任北航化学中心主任,应用化学学科责任教授,学科带头人。

Nickel oxide nanowires modified by poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) were synthesized via a simple chemical pattern. For the first time NiO nanowires with diameters ranging from 40 to 100nm with the expected ratio (length vs diameter) ranging from 54 to 90 were grown using a simple solution-phase approach (mild method). These nickel nanowires exhibited unique photoluminescence features and displayed a significant UV luminescence. X-ray absorption near-edge spectroscopy has been used to characterize the local Ni environment and identify the electronic structure. Comparing experimental and theoretical spectra at the Ni and O K edges, we determine the lattice distortion via the analysis of the characteristic preedge features and the multiplescattering structures detected in the X-ray absorption near-edge structure spectra. The correlation between experimental features and the disordered or distorted local structures is also discussed.

This research reports the preparation and characterization of copper nanoparticles modi_ed by didecyl benzene sulfonate (DBS). The Cu nanoparticles' size was determined to be 4:0nm by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The X-ray photoelectron spectrometry (XPS) results show that there are interactions between the copper nanoparticles and DBS function group. The nonlinear optical properties were studied by the four-wave mixing method. The value of x(3)/αo was found to be 6.9×10-11 esu cm.

The -Fe2O3 nanoparticles coated with DBS and CTAB were prepared by the microemulsion method. The icrostructure was researched using synchrotron radiation. The XPS results reveal the chemical bonds between -Fe2O3 nanoparticles and surfactant groups. The Mossbauer spectra at room temperature were measured for the coated samples. The EXAFS results show substantial e-ect of the surface modi_cation on the local atomic structures. The coated samples exhibit an enhanced nonlinear optical response. The coated layers were found to have a signi-cant inuence on the electron structures of the nanoparticle surface.

PbS nanoparticles modi.ed by cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and sodium dodecyl benzene sulphonate (DBS) have been synthesized. The subpicosecond optical nonlinearity of these PbS nanoparticles was investigated by using the femtosecond optical Kerr e€ect (OKE) experiment. The spectral behavior and the OKE results con.rm that the surfactant environment has crucial rule on the linear and nonlinear optical properties. From the transient response, the relaxation time of the samples has been proved shorter than the laser pulse width.

Sb O and Sb O nanorods have been prepared by using a microemulsion method for the system of AOT-water-toluene. X-ray diffraction and high resolution electron microscopy HREM were used to characterize the phase and size as well as shape of the Sb O and Sb O nanorods. These nanorods have a diameter of 10-50nm and a length of up to 25μm. A possible mechanism for the formation of the nanorods is discussed.

We report the preparation of highly monodisperse ZnO nanoparticles using poly vinyl pyrrolidone! (PVP) as the capping molecules. The surface-modified ZnO nanoparticles were found to be remarkably stable. The optical absorption shows distinct excitonic features. Markedly enhanced near-band-edge ultraviolet photoluminescence and significantly reduced defect-related green emission were also observed. We attribute this observation to the nearly perfect surface passivation of the ZnO nanoparticles by the PVP molecules. The third-order nonlinear optical response of these PVP-capped ZnO nanoparticles in a dilute solution was found to be significantly larger (by at least two orders of magnitude) than that of the bulk ZnO.

We have synthesized highly monodisperse wurtzite ZnO nanoparticles using poly- (vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) as the capping molecules. The effect of surface modification on the size, structure, morphology, and optical properties of ZnO nanoparticles was investigated. It was found that many properties of the ZnO nanoparticles could be optimized by simply varying the molar ratio Zn(II)/PVP. The ZnO nanoparticles prepared under the optimum conditions are particularly stable, monodisperse, as well as small in size. The EXAFS result showed a structural contraction in the ZnO nanoparticles relative to the bulk. These nanoparticles exhibit distinct excitonic absorption features, markedly enhanced near-bandedge UV photoluminescence, and significantly reduced defect-induced green emission. The third-order nonlinear optical response of these PVP-capped ZnO nanoparticles in a dilute solution was found to be larger than that of the bulk ZnO by at least 2 orders of magnitude.

Ž. We report the preparation of crystalline ZnO nanorods using poly vinyl pyrrolidone PVP as the capping molecule. The ZnO nanorods were found to be in a new crystalline phase. The optical absorption spectrum shows a characteristic edge but with a long tail towards the red. The near-band-edge emission was observed only at temperatures below 50K. The photoluminescence is shown to follow Ž. a biexponential decay kinetics with rather short lifetimes; 2 and; 0.3 ns, respectively.
