魏先文,男,汉族,1964年8月生,安徽省舒城县人。1985年7月毕业于安徽师范大学化学系,获学士学位并留校任教。1988年9月赴华东师范大学化学系无机化学助教进修班学习一年。1993年9月进入南京大学配位化学研究所学习,从事富勒烯负离子化学研究,导师徐正教授。1996年7月获硕士学位。1996年9月继续攻读博士学位,从事富勒烯及其衍生物的合成及非线性光学性质研究。1999年6月获博士学位。2001年8月,在安徽师范大学破格晋升为教授。2000年2月至2001年2月获英国皇家学会中英合作信用基金( Sino-British Fellowship Trust Awards ) 资助,在英国Sussex大学从事博士后研究,师从著名的富勒烯化学家Roger Taylor,系统地研究了氟化C60的一系列化学反应,发现了首例富勒烯化学中的SN2’取代反应及全反式的18 轮烯结构。2001年9月至2002年10月获德国亚力山大冯洪堡基金( Alexander von Humboldt Foundation ) 资助,在德国马克斯普朗克固体研究所( Max-Planck Institute for Solid State Research )从事金属富勒烯的制备研究工作。1995年以来,先后在Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., J. Chem. Soc. Perkin Trans. 2, J. Mater. Chem., Chem. Phys. Lett. 等国内外核心刊物上发表学术论文50余篇, 申请中国专利3项。
现为安徽师范大学博士生导师。安徽省“皖江学者”首批特聘教授。安徽省学科拔尖人才。安徽省学术与技术带头人后备人选。安徽省纳米材料及应用产学研专家委员会委员。目前主持有国家自然科学基金重大项目子课题、面上项目,教育部优秀青年教师资助计划项目、留学回国人员科研启动基金项目,安徽省优秀青年科技基金、安徽省自然科学基金项目等科研立项课题六项。

Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were coated with metal sulfide such as CdS, Ag2S and HgS by and in situ synthetic method via non-covalent functionalization of MWNTs with sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), which were characterized by X-ray prwder diffaction (XRD), tranmission electron microcope (TEM) and pholoumirescence spectroscopy. The coating layer was composed of melal sulfide nanoparticles with size of less than 30nm. This method offers MWN Ts/metal sulfide composites withour significantly affecting the energy states of the MWNTs.

Ca(C60)2 and Ba(C60)2, prepared in a THF/H2O solution, were characterized by UV-NIR, ESI-MS, IR, ESR, and Raman spectroscopy, ESR spectra of Ca(C60)2 and Ba(C60)2 are temperature-dependent: the linewidth increases abruptly at about the melting point of THF and the ESR signal dininishes gradully below 170K. A prossible exlanation for this is that THF crystallzzation results in the exclusion of solute from the lattice and leads to C60- aggregation, which pronotes line broadening and the formation of a diamagnetic dimer of (C60)22-, The oxidation of Ca(60)2 and Ba(60)2 in THF was monitored by UV-NIR. The oxidation rate of C60- was found to depend on the countercation.

The mono-trimethylenediamine adducts were prepared vin the reaction betwnne trimethylenediamined and C60 in toluene. The Product was CharacterinoL by ESI-MS and NMR spectroscopy, The solid state 13C NMR sbowed that two araino groups of the diamine adducted to the C60 forrning a cyclo-derivative vin an internediate in which only one amonio group of the diarmine was connected to the C60- The mono-tricnethylenediamine C60 adducts possess the optical mon-linecarities with X(3)-5.39

Facile methods for seletive generation of C20n-(n=1,2.3) and [iration and properties of an aqueous collcidal solution of C70 are rputed C70 was reduced by Ai-Ni alloy (or ZN. Sh) to obtain C70-, C702-, C703- in aqueous caustic-THF or mixtures of DMSO and THF with varying compositions. Without the need for stoichiometric. comtrol of the reducing agents. The reduction products were confirmed by ESI-MS, VIS-NTR and EPR spectra. C70n-(n=1,2.3) are stable to water under our experimental conditions. but very sensitive to oxygen. The cxidatioin. reaction of C70- with oxygen follows C70-→C70 but oxidation of C703-follows C703-→C702-→C70(OH)x which was monitored by NIR absorption spectra and species characterized by FT-IR and 1H NMR. The C70 sol is formed while C70- is oxidizod in aqueous solution. The sol is composed of C70 which was conformed by UV. FTIR and APCI-MS. The aqueous colloidl. solution of C70 prossesses excellent optical limiting properties and bilolgical activity, uillustrated by strong eytotoxicity to U937 sells upon visible light irradiation.

The facile chemical methods for the selective solution-phase generation of C60n-(n=1,2) and the preparation of an aqueous colloidal solution of C60 are reported. When C60 was treated with AI-Ni alloy or tin (or zine powfer or sodium lrydrosulfite) in aqueous NaOH-THF or in aqueous NaOH-DMSO or DMF, C60-or C602-was produced selectively with no need for control of stoichiometry. The reaction products were charecterized by ESI-MS, VIS-NIR, EPR and 13CNMR spectroscopies, It was found that C60n-(n=1,2) was inert to water but very sensitive to oxygen. The oxidation reaction o C602-with oxygen follows the sequence C302-→C601-→C60 which is monitored by NIR absorption spectroscopy. When C60n-(n=1,2) is oxidized in aqueous solution the C60 solis forned, but in dry organic solvent balck C60 powedr is deposited. It Was proved that the sol was composed of C60 by UV. FTIR and ESIMS. Transmission electron microscope analysis showed that the colloidal partiles. ca. 10nm in diarmeter, were moncrystalline and quite homogeneous.

Varions pyrrofidinefularenes (both mono-and bis-addition products) have been isotated from the reaction between tothene sotutions of C60F10 N-methly-2aminoethanoie acid (sareosine) and either formaldelryde or benzaklehyde. Both rnomo-and bis-addotopm products ware obtained and either partiatly from raacfroms with the other aldebydes indication that formaldabyde may be present in sareosine, or generaled from it through in sltu oxidation by the fulterene. The formaldyehyde may be present in saronsine, or generated from it through on sltu oxidation by the fulenrene. The main mono-addition product from reaction at C60F18 with toluene solutions of sarcosine and benzaldehyde was obtainad also in the absemce of benzaldehyde. This anomaty was traced to the prese,ce pf henzaldlethde (0.05%) in HPIC grade totuene, which may be increased by oxidation of toluture during the reaction comdutions.

Tubular barium sulfate, having diameters in the range of 200-350nm and length up to 30 microns, was fabrocated buy a manochamel reactor and characterized by scanning electron microscope. Transmission electron microscope, and X-ray diffracttometer. The process is very simple, effcient and easy to control, which can he used to prepare a wide range of tububr incrganic nanomaterials.

The filling of carbon nanotubes with copper via wet chemcial lechniques is presented. Crystaline copper oxide nanoparticles, mostly shaped like hamboo sltoots, with diameters in the range of ca. 20-90nm and length fo 250-700nm, have been preparad by templating with carbont nanotubes.

The filling of carbon nanotubes with Fe-Ni alloy via wet chemistry is presented. Crystalline Fe-Ni alloy nanoparticies consisting of Fe (75 at%) and Ni (25 at%), with diameters in the range of 5-10 nm and lengths of 10-50 nm, have been successfutly introduced into carbon nanotubes. We antieipate that this method will lead to extensive study of the chemistry and physics of alloys insile nanotubes, which might find applications in catalysis, the fabrication of magnetic storage devices and nanoscale thermostats.
