伍剑,男,教授,1999年3月于清华大学获工学博士学位,1999~2001年于北京邮电大学从事博士后研究工作。IEEE会员,中国通信学会高级会员,北京青年通信委员会委员,2003年获北京市“科技新星”计划资助,2005年教育部“新世纪优秀人才”计划资助,曾获得教育部科技进步三等奖,在国内外会议及期刊上发表论文80余篇,现在北京邮电大学教育部“光通信与光波技术”重点实验室工作。主要从事高速光子网络及高速光信息处理器件及技术的研究,专长于光突发交换技术、光分组交换技术、全光信息处理技术、超高速光时分复用网络及系统、短脉冲技术、光纤传输技术、光孤子技术、光纤中超快非线性现象、高速半导体激光器及调制器技术、光波导器件技术等。作为项目负责人或主研人员参加过多项国家“863”及自然科学基金重大项目的研究。

【期刊论文】Design and Performance Evaluation of Distributed Control Protocol for WR-OBS System

Optical Burst Switching (OBS) has been proposed to be a competitive switching technology for DWDM networks. However, the abrupt burst for large traffic loads will result in unbearable performance degradation in the traditional JET network. To combat with the load sensitivity, a wavelength-routed OBS (WR-OBS) network architecture was confirmed effective. In this paper, we have proposed a distributed control WR-OBS network architecture combining JET protocol with a two-way reservation method. Based on this architecture, two new resource reservation protocols are compared by evaluating their performance. Then based on the Reduced Load Approximation, which is often used in the analysis of the circuit switch network, a novel analysis method was derived to evaluate the blocking performance of the network. And then we have developed a simulation model to evaluate the performance of the network and validate the proposed analysis method. Analytical and simulation results have indicated that the proposed architecture outperforms the traditional JET OBS network in burst blocking probability with a good trade-off between efficiency and complexity.

针对光突发交换网(OBS)中的资源竞争和QoS支持等问题,提出了一种新型的基于窗口的调度算法。该算法利用边缘节点的电缓存,对调度窗口中的突发数据包进行批量BORA调度,可以有效地降低网络中发生资源竞争的概率;同时调度窗口中的优先级策略还可以进一步增强QoS。网络仿真的结果表明,通过选择合适的调度窗口和最大允许时延,该调度算法在0.8的网络负载下使得高优先级突发数据包的阻塞率下降一个量级,信道利用率提高3.5%。

Polarization effects such as polarization mode dispersion (PMD) and polarization dependent loss (PDL) have become the critical limiting factors for long haul high bit rate optical fiber transmission. This paper use waveplate models to simulate the statistical performance of optical link with PMD and PDL in 40Gbit/s optical system. Three DPSK modulation formats are compared each other for their tolerance against PMD and PDL. The 33% RZ-DPSK is superior to the other two DPSK formats, the 50% RZ-DPSK and the CSRZ-DPSK whose duty cycle is 67% when only PMD is considered. And in case of PDL, the outages for three DPSK formats do not show obvious changes with the ncreasing of PDL. Furthermore, the performance of two RZ-DPSK formats, whose duty cycles are 33% and 50% respectively, is superior to that of CSRZ-DPSK. This shows that modulation format with narrower pulse width owns more high tolerance against PMD and PDL, therefore the CSRZ-DPSK format shows poorer performance when it is compared with the other two DPSK formats.

This paper analysis the spectral characteristics of optical pulse amplifications in semiconductor optical amplifiers under transparent assist light injection, comparison with the gain region light injection is also been given. It is shown that gain region light can decrease the spectral broadening and shifting, while transparent light can't improve the spectral distortion though it can accelerate the carrier recovery. The effect of the assist light's power, shape and initial frequency chirp of the input pulses on the shape and the spectrum of the amplified pulse are discussed in detail. The relationship of the maximum spectral shifting with the amplifier's length, bias current is also been given, particular attention is paid to the difference in co- and counter-propagating assist light injection.

Pulse-position modulation is for the first time introduced into all-optical logic XOR based on terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer. Simulation result at 40Gbit/s shows significant mitigation of pattern dependency. It is compared with ON-OFF keying modulation.

All-optical multibit address recognition at 20Gbit/s is demonstrated based on a special AND logic of terahertz optical asymmetric demultiplexer (TOAD). The semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) used in the TOAD is biased at transparency status to accelerate the gain recovery. This is the highest bit rate, to the authors' knowledge, that multibit address recognition is demonstrated with SOA-based interferometer. The experimental results show low pattern dependency. With this method, address recognition can be performed without separating address and payload beforehand.

A novel scheme of all-optical XOR is proposed based on Sagnac interferometric structure. Using a semiconductor optical amplifier (SOA) as nonlinear medium, the operations of this scheme with 80 Gb/s return to zero pseudorandom bit sequence are simulated correctly with fairly high performance. Through numerical analysis, and by comparison of the performances between 40 and 80Gb/s operation, parameters of the SOA and the signals are discussed, and this scheme is proved to exceed the speed limitation imposed by carrier lifetime of the SOA. This scheme is potentially capable of XOR operation speed to 100Gb/s.
