吴晓京: 教授,博士生导师。1981年初毕业于北京师范大学物理系,获学士学位;1983年就读于中国科学院物理研究所,于1986、1989分别获得硕士、博士学位。之后,即赴日本,先后在日本国科技厅国立无机材质研究所、三菱瓦斯化学公司、日本超电导工学研究所及日本东京大学从事研究工作。2001年,作为引进中青年杰出人才,受聘成为上海复旦大学材料科学系教授。
吴晓京教授多年从事物质结构、结构与物性关系方面的研究工作,研究的材料先后涉及矿物质、陶瓷材料、半导体材料、高温超导材料以及功能薄膜等等。在国际各类著名学术杂志上(包括Nature、Phys. Rew.B、JAP、JJAP、Physica C、Acta Crystal.、Phil.Mag.等等)先后发表了近80篇文章,并在国际会议上发表了30余篇会议文章,并与他人合作,参与出版了两部专业著作,目前拥有9项日、美、欧专利。在国际晶体学学会主持发布的PDF数据库中,采纳了吴晓京教授所确定的4种新超导物质的结构数据。
目前的主要研究方向是研究物质结构、缺陷、器件结构及失效分析、半导体材料结构分析、功能薄膜的制备、表征与性能关系。 2004年8月当选为中国电子显微镜学会第7届理事会理事。

A nearly single phase "Pb" -1223 sample with a nominal composition of Pb:Sr:Ca:Cu=0.5:2.8:1.7:3.0 has been prepared by using a high pressure technique. The sample showed superconductivity at 104 K with a Meissner superconduct-ing volume fraction of about 35% at 5 K. A micro-composition analysis by energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) measurement indicated that the ratio of cations in the final product was Pb:Sr:Ca:Cu=0.55:2.42:1.73:3.30. The basic structure of the present sample was determined by X-ray Rietveld refinement. This compound has a tetragonal symmetry with space group P4/mmm and lattice parameters a=3.831(3) A and c=15.30(1), An electron diffraction (ED) study indicated the presence of an orthorhombic B-face centered superlattice with lattice parameters a3=3.1a, b3=a and c3=2c. Based on a high-resolution transmission electron microscopic (HRTEM) study, a structural model is proposed.

Several new intergrowth phases are discovered in Hg-TI-Ba-Ca-Cu-O compounds by transmission electron micro-scopic (TEM) observations. These phases can be classified into two groups. In the fhst group, the phases are formed by a regular intergrowth between different members of the so-called (Hg,TI)-22 (n-1)n homologous series. On the other hand, the phases of the second group are formed by the intergrowth between members of (Hg,Tl)-22(n-1)n and those of (Hg,T1)-12(n-1)n. Based on the TEM observations, the sub-lattices, stacking orders, lattice parameters and crystal symmetry for the new phases are determined. The structural model for each phase is proposed.

Nearly single-phase superconducting (Hg0.7, Tl0.3)2Ba2(Cax,Y]x)Cu208-2δ samples (x=0.1, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6) were prepared by a high pressure synthesis technique. The crystal structure of these samples was determined by X-ray Rietveld refinement. This crystal belongs to a tetragonal system and has a space group of I4/mmm with a≈3.86 and c≈29.0, The unit cell parameter a decreases and c increases with increasing x. The expansion of the c-axis is found to mainly result from the increase in the inter-planar distance between the Ba-Hg planes. The present refinement does not show evidence for the substitution of Cu in the (Hg,Tl) site.

A nearly single-phase sample of the recently discovered new magnetic material with a nominal composition of Y:Cu = 1:1.8 is prepared by a high pressure synthesis technique. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) analysis confirms that the composition ratio of Y to Cu is quite close to 1: 1.8. The crystal structure of this sample was determined by means of X-ray powder diffraction Rietveld refinement. According to the refinement results, this structure has a monoclinic symmetry with a space group of 12/a (or C2/c, No.15) and the lattice parameters a = 5.690(5) A, b=9.580(9) A, c=5.609(5) A, and p = 92.470(6)". It is found that about 10% Cu sites are vacancies in this phase. Electron diffraction analysis indicates that the Cu vacancies do not form any ordering arrangement.

Superconducting (Hg, Tl)-O double layer compound samples were prepared by a high-pressure synthesis technique. Some samples have the composition of (Hg0.7,Tl0.3)xBax(Cax,Yl.x)Cu2Os.2s and are nearly single phase when x=0.1, 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6. The crystal structure of these samples was determined by X-ray Rietveld refinement. On the other hand, several new intergrowth phases were discovered in Y-free Hg(Tl)-Ba-Ca-Cu-O samples by TEM observation. Based on the TEM observation, symmetry and super-lattice parameters for the new phases were determined and structural models were proposed.

A sample with a nominal composition of Hg:Tl:Ba:Cu:C = 1:1:4:2:1 was prepared by a, high-pressure synthesis technique. A new phase with a space group of 14/mmm and lattice parameters of a = 3.9256 A and c = 38.875 A was found in this sample. An energy dispersive X-ray spectrum analysis indicated that the composition of the new phase is not far from the nominal one. A transmission electron microscopic observation revealed that in this phase the stacking order is. CO-BaO-CuO,-BaO-(Hg,Tl)O-(Hg,Tl)O-BaO-CuO,-BaO.. along the c-axis, and there is no superstructure in the & plane. A crystal structural model was proposed based on the transmission electron microscopic observation. By using this model, the high resolution transmission electron microscopic images as well as powder X-ray diffraction pattern were simulated. It was found that the simulations are in good agreement with the experimental ones.

A nearly single-phase superconducting (Hg0.6, Tl0.4) Ba2Ca2Cu3O9.9 sample prepared by a high pressure synthesis technique was annealed in Ar gas under different conditions. The crystal structural evolution of the sample was studied by X-ray Rietveld structure refinement. This crystal has a tetragonal unit cell with as 3.84 and cs 35.7 A, belonging to a space group of I4rmmm. After annealing, both the a-and c-axis lengths increase. It is found that Ar anneal leads to expansion of the interplanar distance between Ba-Rock salt-Ba, and shrinkage of that between Ba-infinite layer-Ba. The present refinement indicates that Cu atoms substitute for about 10% of (Hg,Tl) at 4e (0, 0, z) site with z~0.22.

A new type 2212 phase is discovered in a Tl-Hg-Ba-Cu-O sample, in which the M site, located in the so-called infinite-layer block of CuO2/MrCuO2, is occupied by (Tl,Hg) rather than AE/Y/RE elements (AE: alkaline earth elements; RE: rare earth elements). By transmission electron microscope studies, it is found that this phase has a space group of I4/mmm and the lattice parameters of α=3.88 A and c=29.1 (3) A. The atomic ratio determined by energy dispersive X-ray analysis is Tl:Hg:Ba:Cus25.14:13.74:31.40:29.72. High resolution transmission electron microscope observations and simulations revealed that this phase has a so-called 2212 structure and a stacking order of {(Tl,Hg)O1-δ-BaO-CuO2-(Tl,Hg)-CuO2-BaO-(Tl,Hg) O1-δ}.

A sample with a nominal composition of Pb:Sr:Ca:Cus5.0:28.0:27.0:40.0 has been prepared by using a high-pressure synthesis technique. A micro-composition analysis by an energy dispersive X-ray EDX measurement indicated that the ratio of cations in the main phase was Pb:Sr:Ca:Cus5.5:24.6:27.9:41.4. High-resolution transmission electron microscope. HRTEM observations showed that the crystal has a ‘1234’ structure. The crystallographic data of the present sample were refined by X-ray Rietveld analysis. This compound has a tetragonal symmetry with a space group of P4rmmm and lattice parameters of as3.83355 7 A and cs18.4421 4 A. In contrast to the previously reported ‘Pb’-1212 and 1223, no sharp satellites could be found in electron diffraction patterns EDPs for this sample, indicating a nearly disordered distribution of Pb, Cu and Sr in the ‘Pb’-O sheets.
