徐正教授1962年毕业于南京大学化学系,1966年研究生毕业于中科院大连化学物理研究所。研究生期间从事高温快速反应动力学和化学激光研究;68-80年围绕着二机部的任务,开展新材料研制,解决了核材料的存贮问题,受到国防科委嘉奖和全国科学大会奖;1981年至今从事配位化学、纳米化学、富勒烯化学的基础研究。作为访问教授曾多次去加拿大进行合作研究:1988-1990年Guelph大学和Concordia大学、1993年、1997年Guelph大学,1999年Western Ontario大学。曾承担国家自然科学基金会重点项目子项目,参与重大项目研究工作,主持江苏省自然科学基金会重点项目的研究工作。科研成果曾获国家自然科学三等奖,国家教委科技进步一等奖和二等奖,2004教育部提名国家科学技术奖自然科学一等奖。1984年以来共发表科学论文260多篇。1990年以来发表的论文被他引600多次。申请国家发明专利6项,其中3项已获专利权。出版《化学反应速率理论导论》一书。已培养14名硕士、12名博士、一名博士后。一位研究生的论文入选2003年“全国优秀博士论文”。多次在全国和国际会议上作邀请报告.
徐正教授在纳米化学、富勒烯化学和配位化学领域颇有建树。他们围绕着纳米粒子的可控合成(包括大小和形状)和有序组装进行了系统的研究。用硬模板和软模板的方法研究了金属、金属氧化物、半导体、聚合物、富勒烯和碳等多种单质和化合物的纳米粒子、纳米线(管)、管中管和空心微球的制备、结构和性质。建立了一个简便、可靠的“二级模板法”。成功地在金属、金属氧化物、半导体、聚合物、富勒烯和碳等多种不同类型的纳米管内装填完整的、连续的金属纳米线。填充率几乎达到100%,并且金属纳米线的直径、长度和纳米管的壁厚可以方便地调节。解决了在纳米管内装填其它物种和纳米管有序组装等两大难题。这项成果受到包括第三世界科学院院长C.N.R.Rao教授在内的众多国际学者的很高评价。国际纳米网站nanotechweb.org 介绍了该项工作. 3篇论文分别被Adv. Mater.和Chem. Commun.选为Top Ten Most Read Articles。他们在有序组装领域做出了创新的工作,特别是在各种类型的纳米管中填装金属纳米线的工作处于国际先进行列。最近他们用新颖的催化剂首次合成出铁磁性碳纳米管,与文献已报道的碳基磁性材料相比,具有磁性强,可重复等特点。
他们对C60、C70的还原反应进行了系统的研究,发现在酸性条件下,化学还原生成富勒烯氢化物,但在碱性条件下则生成富勒烯的负离子。一般文献报道富勒烯负离子对水敏感,他们发现,C60n-、C70n-在无氧存在时对水并不敏感。在国际上首次发现无需控制还原剂的化学计量,只需改变溶剂,就能定量生成C60负离子的水溶液。C60和C70负离子在有机溶液中氧化生成C60、C70中性粉末,在水中氧化则生成C60、C70水溶胶。 在有机稀土配合物领域,他们发现烷氧基化合物加热发生分子内自催化脱氢反应;发现了肟基与金属间新的配位方式;发现了合成含氧配体有机稀土金属配合物的新方法。该方法产率高、容易控制氧的计量,为设计、合成含氧配体有机稀土金属配合物提供了新途径;开展了多核配合物的研究,较早合成出含锰和铬的12核配合物,研究了它们的结构和磁性。

In the current paper, we report a facile template-free route formass 'production' of ZnS hollow spheres with nano-and submicro-sizes, employing thiocarbamide, (CH3COO)2Zn·2H2O and water as the raw materials. ZnS hollow spheres were obtained via hydrothermal reaction at 140℃ for 5h. XRD analysis showed that the as-prepared ZnS hollow spheres were of hexagonal phase structure. To the best of our knowledge, there were few reports on the preparation of hexagonal ZnS crystals under low temperature (<300℃) in the literature. Furthermore, there is no report on the hollow structure of hexagonal phase ZnS under such low temperature (140℃). Experimental results showed that the amount of thiocarbamide in the reaction system had a great impact on the size, shape, and structure of the final product. On the basis of the experimental results and our previous work, apossible formation mechanism was suggested.

Large-scale well-aligned ZnO nanotubes with outer diameters of 100-300nm and lengths of tens of micrometres have been prepared by a template-based chemical vapour deposition method. The photoluminescence spectrum of the ZnO nanotube arrays consists of a strong violet band at 414nm, a blue band at 462nm and a weak shoulder peak at around 480nm. The field emission of the ZnO nanotube arrays shows a turn-on field of about 7.3Vμm−1 at a current density of 0.1μA cm−2 and emission current density up to 1.3mA cm−2 at a bias field of 11.8Vμm−1.

The properties of the excited triplet state of dicyanodihydrofullerene [C60(CN)2] were determined with nanosecond laser photolysis and a picosecond/nanosecond optical limiting (OL) system. It was found that C60(CN)2 possessed a lower quantum yield and higher extinction coefficient of the excited triplet state, which in turn resulted in its similar OL performance for nanosecond laser pulse compared with pristine C60. However, C60(CN)2 shows a better OL perfor-mance for picosecond laser pulse, which can be understood according to a three-level model.

The mono-trimethylenediamine adducts were prepared via the reaction between trimethylenediamine and C6o in toluene. The product was characterized by ESI-MS and NMR spectroscopy. The solid state 13C NMR showed that two amino groups of the diamine adducted to the C60 forming a cyclo-derivative via an intermediate in which only one amino group of the diamine was connected to the C6o. The mono-trimethylenediamine C60 adducts possess the optical non-linearities with X(3)=5.39

The facile chemical methods for the selective solution-phase generation of C60 n-(n=1,2) and the preparation of an aqueous colloidal solution of C60 are reported. When C60 was treated with Al-Ni alloy or tin (or zinc powder or sodium hydrosulfite) in aqueous NaOH-THF or in aqueous NaOH-DMSO or DMF, C60-or C60 2-was produced selectively with no need for control of stoichiometry. The reaction products were characterized by ESI-MS, VIS-NIR, EPR and 13C NMR spectroscopies. It was found that C60 n-(n=1,2) was inert to water, but very sensitive to oxygen. The oxidation reaction of C60 2-with oxygen follows the sequence: C60 2-→C60 1-→C60, which is monitored by NIR absorption spectroscopy. When C60 n-(n=1,2) is oxidized in aqueous solution the C60 sol is formed, but in dry organic solvent black C60 powder is deposited. It was proved that the sol was composed of C60 by UV, FTIR and ESIMS. Transmission electron microscope analysis showed that the colloidal particles, ca. 10 nm in diameter, were noncrystalline and quite homogeneous.

Selective reduction C60 to C60- and C602- has been accomplished by treating C60 with zinc powder (or sodium hydrosulfite) in aqueous caustic/THF(or DMSO). It was confirmed that C60- and C602- did not react with water at our experimental conditions.
